HybridWhat you will do
The role owns and drives the Global Johnson’s & APAC Skin Health packaging innovation pipeline, ensuring strong alignment to regional and global brand strategies and delivering differentiated consumer experiences through packaging. Defines the strategic direction for packaging formats, design, functionality, quality, and performance, translating deep technical expertise into commercially relevant solutions. Leads and develops a diverse, multi‑hub team of packaging developers and engineers, setting clear goals, success metrics, and fostering a high‑performance culture. Acts as a key partner to global packaging, sustainability, value realization, suppliers, commercial, and supply chain teams to advance platforms, embed sustainability commitments, optimize cost and processes, and ensure robust execution from concept through manufacturing and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with the cross-functional team to lead new package development based on consumer insight, delivering the targeted consumer benefit and key claims, while meeting cost targets.
Has expertise in integrating materials & process knowledge when leveraging digital tools such as CAD, modelling & simulation to streamline package development and guide the team to deliver right-first-time initiatives.
Pilot & deploy process optimization opportunities for packaging development. Collaborates with supply chain, marketing, and formulation to identify opportunities and drive projects forward.
Manages the identification of new materials and structures, and plans studies with the appropriate cross-functional team to validate consumer experience impacts of the new changes.
Manages development process robustness for new products from research and development to manufacturing and their translation into specifications. Maintains accountability for best practices throughout product and process design. Implements methods for measuring performance to monitor the technical integrity of products.
Lead, with help from the team, development of packaging development plans and drive alignment with the regional segment teams.
Monitor and set up a high-efficiency team and lead team members to deliver innovation project pipeline.
What We Are Looking For
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Packaging, Mechanical, Polymer/Plastics, or Chemical Engineering.
Experience: 8+ years (for MS/PhD holders) or 10+ years of new package development and/or technology transfer experience, preferably within luxury beauty or high‑end CPG companies.
Technical & Professional Expertise: Advanced packaging domain expertise, strong knowledge of external ecosystems, proven leadership of self and teams, solid project management capability, and excellent communication skills.
Functional Knowledge: Intermediate understanding of packaging regulations and digital workflows (e.g., CAD, modeling & simulation) to support efficient, right‑first‑time development.
Who Are You?
Technical proficiency to shape team deliverables and assess/ manage risk. Expertise in understanding of packaging development work process and packaging molding technologies.
Confident and articulate communicator (both written and verbal), with the ability to convey and present complex information to others clearly and logically
Strong leadership and critical thinking skills, sets performance standards for their workgroup and ensures that
Lead team to deliver innovation project pipeline, able to manage multiple simultaneous priorities.
Knowledge of external vendor ecosystem and capabilities. Knowledge of new packaging industry trends.
Ability to continuously develop self and team for technical and organizational skills.
Ability to work in a matrix organization, managing multiple complex projects, priorities, and systems simultaneously. Able to re-prioritize in an ever-changing environment
Good interpersonal skills and ability to build effective working relationships at all levels in the organization
