HybridWhat you will do
- The Assistant General Counsel, Regulatory Law will be responsible for providing advice and legal counsel on a wide range of legal issues for the Skin Health & Beauty business, including advising on regulatory compliance and federal and state legislation, advertising, labeling and claims substantiation, regulatory filings and communications, for cosmetics and OTC drugs. In addition, the Assistant General Counsel will be responsible for conducting legal research and advising on external environment matters. The ideal candidate will be passionate about learning and have an understanding of relevant legislation and regulations and stay up-to-date on any changes or updates. In this role, the Assistant General Counsel, Regulatory Law will be responsible for providing timely and clear guidance to business partners while safeguarding the company's interests, rights, and reputation. They will also be responsible for training business partners on local laws and regulations, drafting Kenvue policies and general legal support, which includes identifying legal issues, drafting contracts, negotiating terms, and performing other duties as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide regulatory advice and legal support to Skin Health & Beauty business for the U.S. and Global Brand teams to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, industry guidelines and internal policies.
- Coordinate legal matters with colleagues in the Law Department.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to provide guidance on legal issues related to regulatory compliance.
- Support copy review and clearance for Skin Health & Beauty brands.
- Develop training programs and internal policies to educate clients on regulatory compliance requirements and best practices.
- Draft and negotiate a range of commercial agreements, including influencer, promotional and digital marketing agreements.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to support business initiatives.
What we are looking for
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent degree from a qualified law school.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in regulatory compliance.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations related to the industry, including the FD&C Act.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have a solid understanding of advertising, including both print and digital media, as well as experience in the area of claims review and substantiation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Desired Qualifications
- Expertise in FDA regulations and FTC advertising standards
- Experience advising on social media and influencer marketing
- Ability to anticipate and counsel on legal risks facing the company.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Experience in providing legal counsel on complex issues such as compliance issues and commercial agreements.
- Knowledge of legal, policy, and external environment issues applicable to consumer products companies.
- Ability to communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
