HybridWhat you will do
The Brand Reliability Manager shapes and drives design stage quality actions and risk decisions for assigned products, platforms, or innovation programs, ensuring that potential technical, consumer, and compliance risks are proactively identified, challenged, and addressed during Front-end Innovation and product development. The role supports consistent application of enterprise Brand Reliability standards and expectations across early lifecycle stages. The Brand Reliability Manager partners closely with Technical Reliability, R&D, and regional Quality and teams to ensure design stage quality activities are integrated into program execution and decision making. Using risk-based and learning driven approaches, this role applies disciplined technical judgment to inform design choices, challenge assumptions, and surface escalation needs when unmanaged risk remains. Additionally, this role may support design-stage quality engineering for marketed or legacy products when in-market signals identify the need for upstream design, formulation, or technical risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities
Executes design-quality and risk activities for assigned programs, ensuring enterprise design-quality standards and expectations are applied consistently during Front-End Innovation and product development.
Partners with cross-functional teams to support early identification, assessment, and communication of design-stage technical and consumer risks, including participation in design reviews, risk discussions, and progression decisions.
Applies disciplined technical judgment to challenge design assumptions, support definition of success criteria, and ensure that key risks and tradeoffs are understood before advancement to downstream lifecycle stages.
Supports escalation of unresolved design-stage risk, providing clear technical rationale, risk framing, and documentation to Brand Reliability Leaders and Product Reliability leadership as needed.
Translates lifecycle and in-market learnings into preventive design guidance, supporting continuous improvement of design standards, tools, and ways of working.
Contributes to capability development within the Brand Reliability organization, including sharing best practices, supporting standardization efforts, and mentoring less experienced engineers to strengthen design-quality execution at scale.
What we are looking for
Required Qualifications
8-10 years of progressive experience across quality, product development, technical operations, or related technical leadership roles.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent Chemistry, Engineering, Pharmacy or any related technical field
Working proficiency in fundamental quality engineering tools, methodologies, and applicable regulatory standards, with the ability to apply risk-based thinking and data-driven problem solving to support design-stage product and system decisions.
Experience supporting cross-functional technical work across product development or front-end innovation programs, contributing to alignment of design assumptions, risk tradeoffs, and progression decisions within defined scope.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly communicate technical risks, assumptions, and design considerations to cross-functional partners.
Demonstrated collaboration and execution orientation, with experience partnering with R&D, Innovation, and Quality teams to help identify risks early, analyze data, and support timely design decisions.
Ability to operate with guidance and defined accountability, applying sound technical judgment in design-stage scenarios and escalating unresolved risks to Brand Reliability or Product Reliability leadership as appropriate.
Fluency in English required.
Desired Qualifications
Foundational understanding of the consumer products regulatory environment, with the ability to consider regulatory, technical, and customer expectations when supporting design-stage decisions during early lifecycle phases.
Ability to summarize and communicate technical data and risk insights, supporting design discussions and informed decision making within cross-functional product development teams.
Experience participating in technical design reviews and applying quality risk management practices, including supporting identification, assessment, and documentation of design-stage risks and assumptions.
Demonstrated problem-solving capability, applying structured and data-driven approaches to design-stage challenges with support from more senior technical leaders.
Experience contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, supporting updates to design-quality tools, standards, or ways of working through data analysis, collaboration, and practical execution.
Working proficiency with digital tools and platforms used to analyze data, document risk assessments, and support consistent design-quality execution.
Executional adaptability, with the ability to operate effectively in fast-paced development environments, manage assigned priorities, and adjust to evolving program needs.
