Commercial Activation Manager

This position reports to Head of Brand Activation Skin Health & Essential Health Nordics and is based in Oslo.

What you will do 

The Commercial Activation Manager is responsible for the performance of the country’s brand(s), ensuring that the product, pricing, placement, and promotions implemented are successful and gaining market share. You will develop and execute best-in-class local marketing activation plans in close collaboration with the Head of Brand Activation, local team and Cluster Marketing, leveraging consumer, shopper, and customer insights to drive sustainable growth and profitability.

Additionally, you will work closely with the Head of Brand Activation and Cluster Marketing to localize and optimize regional/cluster integrated marketing campaigns for exceptional market execution. A key part of the role is the proactive use of data to generate  key local insights and guide strategy.

Key Responsibilities
 

  • Lead the local brand planning process, turning insights into actionable strategies and identifying new business opportunities through effective stakeholder management.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure alignment with revenue, profit, and market share goals, making adjustments when necessary.
  • Provide annual shopper and category insights needs to Cluster to inform strategic planning.
  • Lead the local brand planning process, turning insights into action, identifying new business opportunities, and managing stakeholders effectively. Set and track key performance indicators to align with revenue, profit and market share goals, making necessary adjustments.
  • Contribute to and implement the 4P commercial strategy (assortment, pricing, promotion, placement), monitoring outcomes and initiating resolutions as needed.
  • Develop and execute Local Activation Plans, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and effective implementation aligned with local business plan and NPI roll-outs.
  • Collaborate with Key Account Managers to ensure successful execution of activation plans tailored to local trade conditions and agreements.
  • Adopt and create in-store materials that adhere to Science of Brand Growth (SOBG) principles, ensuring alignment with regional marketing strategies.
  • Conduct post-campaign evaluations, providing insights and best practices to optimize future marketing initiatives.
  • Oversee New Product Development (NPD) launches, assessing market opportunities, setting pricing strategies, and monitoring performance against targets.
  • Manage the brand’s local financial performance, including budget oversight, aligning sales and activation targets, and driving P&L outcomes through cross-functional partnerships.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure executional excellence, acting as the marketing lead for local customer initiatives and representing the brand in relevant meetings.

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

  • University degree in Business Administration or respective studies
  • At least 5 years in similar role in fast moving consumer goods/OTC/retail sector/related businesses, preferably in marketing or sales
  • Native level skills in Norwegian and fluency in English. Skills in additional Nordic languages are a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and high personal credibility to connect across functions within Nordics and Northern Europe
