What will you do  

The Tech Ops Process Science Supervisor will be focused on Toiletries Plant in São José dos Campos, Brazil, leading the process science agenda. This individual works closely with the cross-functional Supply Chain and R&D teams, to develop new manufacturing processes for New Products Introduction, triage products’ issues during manufacturing, assess risks and implement proactive solutions to ensure high standards of quality, compliance, and reliability are maintained. The scope of work for the Process Science Supervisor includes excellence execution of Strategic Projects (new technology introduction, network optimization, new products introduction, capacity increase and digitization), Base Business initiatives (INV/CAPA, troubleshooting, Rapid Response/Business Continuity), Life Cycle Management Projects (technology transfers, cost reduction, efficiency and productivity improvement).

The individual will use knowledge of product and process to drive work execution and decision making that is grounded in strong technical analysis, good judgement and a working knowledge of regulatory requirements.

The Tech Ops Process Science Supervisor will work collaboratively with Supply Chain, R&D and Make Organizations to lead technical execution and support within Toiletries plant.

 Responsibilities

  • Lead Tech Ops Process Science activities (Innovation Projects, Base business, LCM & Plant Execution) with strong business alignment and optimized workforce flexibility.
  • Represent Tech Ops Process Science Brazil in Make, R&D, Supply Chain and QA forums. Act as the technical voice for the Toiletries plant. 
  • Partnership with Process Engineering Supervisor for the Franchise Project execution, Technology Transfers, Validation execution
  • Use of Statistical Process Controls to ensure product quality standards and process optimization
  • Management of Process Science team that supports audits, investigations, escalations, CAPAs, Rapid Response Teams, crisis management and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure that all team activities and documentation are completed using good science at a quality level that meets established Health Authority, Legal and Kenvue Quality Compliance standards.
  • Implement and maintain sustainable methods for measuring performance to monitor the technical integrity of products ensuring clear identification of project goals and the benefits to be realized.
  • Train other associates on technical concepts related to base business and process development.
  • Proactively investigates and develops improvements to existing processes or develops new and improved basic processes.

What we are looking for

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Chemistry, Pharmacy or a related field;
  • 6+ years’ experience in relevant field;
  • Manufacturing Processes and KPIs management expertise;
  • Statistic Process Control’s Tools knowledge and application;
  • Liquids assets and equipment technical knowledge: process development;
  • Advanced level of English;
  • Demonstrate to be a critical thinker with problem solving skills including the ability to provide technical leadership in problem-solving and decision-making; to collaborate with and influence business partner leaders with a focus on data, science, and technology required;
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) and solid presentation skills are required including the ability to explain technology concepts to business partners;
  • Ability to constructively challenge cross-functional project teams and business partners to achieve project goals and LATAM Make and innovation strategic plans.

Desired qualifications:

  • Working experience in the field of process development, process engineering and/or technical service for Cosmetic Formulated products is highly preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will be people-oriented and metrics driven with exceptional communication and influencing skills across R&D, Operations, and Quality. 
  • God knowledge and application of ANVISA and other applicable regulatory requirements in LATAM and latest guidance in the development, validation, and manufacture of Cosmetic products required.
  • Possesses a high degree of independent judgment which directly impacts the operational results of the department.
  • Ability to collaborate with and influence manufacturing site leadership teams regarding prioritization and resourcing required.
  • Ability to inform, communicate with, and influence Senior Management regarding validated state of respective products/processes and indicated priorities required.
