Manager- Visualization
This position reports into the Director, Digital Product Development and Business Services. Based in Bengaluru, India.
What You Will Do
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager - Visualization to lead our Business Intelligence (BI) team. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in data visualization tools, the Microsoft BI technology stack, data warehousing concepts, and strong leadership qualities to drive impactful data-driven decisions across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of BI developers and analysts, fostering a culture of data literacy, innovation, and best practices in visualization and reporting. This includes performance management, career pathing, and cultivating a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
Strategy & Architecture: Define the organization’s data visualization strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and leveraging the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
Dashboard Development: Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of interactive and complex dashboards and reports using industry-leading tools like Power BI and Tableau.
Data Management: Collaborate with data engineering and data science teams to ensure data accuracy, accessibility, and governance. Utilize SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis within the Microsoft data platform.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with various department heads to understand their data needs, translating business requirements into technical specifications and impactful data solutions.
Governance & Standards: Establish and enforce data visualization standards, governance policies, and quality assurance processes.
Performance Optimization: Ensure all reports and dashboards are optimized for performance, usability, and data accuracy across all platforms.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Microsoft BI Stack Expertise: Deep proficiency and practical experience across the Microsoft BI technology stack, including:
Power BI Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, including Power Query, DAX, and report server management.
Azure Data Services: Experience with relevant Microsoft Azure data services such as Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure SQL Database.
SQL Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of SQL for complex querying, data mining, and performance tuning within Microsoft SQL Server and other RDBMS platforms.
Tableau Expertise: Strong proficiency in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server/Online for data visualization and distribution.
Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
People Leadership: Proven track record of developing talent, leading high-performing teams, and driving change management initiatives.
Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of effectively engaging with technical teams and senior business stakeholders.
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, IT, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in managing Business Intelligence team
Strong understanding of processes, systems, and emerging technologies.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
Ability to analyse data and drive insights to optimize performance.
Experience in risk management, compliance, and contract negotiation.
Proactively identify program and technical risks, generate mitigation plans, and facilitate the
closure of risks in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Participate in project & program governances review meetings, and act as the point of escalation
People management experience is favourable
Proven track record in leading large, cross-functional projects
Strategic mindset, outstanding critical thinking
