What you will do

The Deliver Operation Manager is responsible for managing daily transportation operations, negotiating service agreements, improving business processes, and overseeing compliance audits.

Role reports to: Supply Chain Deliver Senior Manager

Location: Tokyo Kudan

Travel %: 20-30% to DC in Saitama, 5% to DC in Osaka

You will lead a team to ensure efficient transportation services and maximize profitability through process improvements:

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily operations of transportation services through subordinates
• Solving complex supplier quality problems and improve business processes
• Lead a team of delivery staff to ensure timely and efficient service
• Oversee internal/external legal or government audits of compliance
• Supervise the preparation of import documents through import brokers and Customs
• Monitor and analyze supply chain performance metrics to identify areas for improvement
• Analyze data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement innovative solutions
• Work on enhancing transportation service performance and efficiency
• Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize delivery operations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance delivery processes and customer experience
• Manage operational budget effectively
• Improve profitability through process improvements and resource utilization
• Develop and implement transportation service policies, standards, guidelines, technology, and procedures
• Develop and implement programs to support company logistics initiatives for worldwide leveraging and contracting opportunities through cooperation with carriers
• Stay updated on industry trends and technologies to drive continuous improvement
• Continuously explore, assess, and integrate new technologies to optimize transportation development

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

• 8-10 years of experience in logistics delivery operations or related field
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Major Business Administration or MBA diploma is a plus.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively lead and motivate a team
• Ability to solve complex supplier quality problems and improve business processes
•  Experience in negotiating and executing transportation service agreements and contracts

Desired Qualifications

• Proven track record of successfully managing delivery operations and driving results
• Experience in handling loss/damage claims/insurance settlements for shipments
• Knowledge of transportation carrier tariff classifications and routings
• Familiarity with transportation methods, rates, and routes
• Relationship management with 3PL, transportation company, freight forwarders and custom brokers
• Experience in managing operational budgets effectively
• Experience in developing and implementing programs to support logistics initiatives
• Experience in overseeing compliance audits
• Experience in preparing import documents through import brokers and Customs
