This position reports into the Head of National Accounts and is Geo-Flexible between Summit, NJ; Nashville, TN; Chicago, IL; Minneapolis, MN; Cumberland, RI; or Cincinnati, OH.
The Director, Dollar Channel is responsible for directing the development and servicing of national/key accounts to achieve business sales objectives. You will build relationships with key customers, report results against forecasts, and ensure business plan objectives are met:
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute strategic plans to drive growth and profitability within the Dollar Channel segment
Lead cross-functional teams to develop innovative marketing campaigns and promotions tailored to the unique needs of the Dollar Channel customers
Identify and capitalize on emerging trends and opportunities within the Dollar Channel market to stay ahead of competitors
Collaborate with key stakeholders to optimize product assortment and pricing strategies for the Dollar Channel segment
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction within the Dollar Channel
Lead and oversee the development and servicing of key customers to achieve business sales objectives in alignment with senior management
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers to streamline the sales process and drive business growth
Analyze sales results against forecasts and make necessary adjustments to ensure business plan objectives are met
Manage and approve department budget to ensure financial goals are met
Monitor department progress and initiate corrective action when necessary to drive sales performance
Present periodic sales reports to senior management with proposed plan changes for continuous improvement
Provide coaching and guidance to high-level sales executives to enhance their performance
Abilities
Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, complex matrix, changing environment.
Ability to influence decision-makers up and down two or more levels, with and without direct authority, to ensure a fully aligned customer/category/company business plan.
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across all functions in the organization. Strong presentation skills and ability to tailor skills and presentation style to a variety of key decision makers.
Ability to devise and deliver persuasive presentations, based on data-driven insights and facts, to gain support for business strategies and/or initiatives.
What we are looking for
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in a related role within the retail industry, with a proven track record of success in driving growth and profitability
University/Bachelors Degree or Equivalent in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field
Minimum of 10-12 years of proven working experience in sales and business development
Experience in managing national/key accounts and achieving business sales objectives
Strong understanding of sales incentives and commission structures
Experience in budget management and financial planning
Desired Qualifications
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve strategic objectives
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to make data-driven decisions and drive business results
In-depth knowledge of the Dollar Channel market and consumer behavior trends to inform strategic planning and decision-making
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with key customers
Ability to analyze sales data and make strategic decisions to drive business growth
Knowledge of sales performance metrics and ability to optimize sales team performance
Strong leadership skills to coach and mentor high-level sales executives
Ability to adapt to changing market trends and implement new strategies for sales growth
