What you will do

The EMEA Controllership Junior Accountant is principally centered around aiding and executing the financial close process for their respective legal entities. The accountabilities of this position include overseeing the day-to-day transactional activities related to the financial close process. Moreover, this role acts as a critical support system to the EMEA Controller with an emphasis on communication with the broader finance team regarding necessary close items.

In the context of local audits, the EMEA Controllership Junior Accountant plays a key role in ensuring that audits are on track by preparing necessary documentation for auditors, coordinating with various teams to address audit queries and any other action that may be required. Additionally, the role is instrumental in supporting the implementation and maintenance of requisite financial policies, risk control procedures, standard operating procedures, and internal control measures, under the guidance of the EMEA Controller.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and support the facilitation of all necessary components of the LE financial statements, which includes items such as the Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss Statement, and Cash Flow Statement.
  • Support the preparation and submission of Tax filings in adherence to the required timeframe.
  • Develop internal reporting packages and other necessary financial reporting documents in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provide necessary support in preparing documentation and information for any audit requests related to legal entities.
  • Work in unison with Financial Reporting and Financial Operations teams to ensure thorough completion of both sub-ledger and general ledger closures.
  • Responsible for the preparation of legal entity actuals variance analysis to track and explain any fluctuation in financial numbers.
  • Support the preparation of any tax-related calculations.
  • Take charge of completing any remaining or stranded transactional activities that relate to the legal entities, ensuring no tasks are left unattended.
  • Escalate any issues or potential complications concerning complex accounting matters to the attention of the EMEA Controller for prompt and effective resolution.

Stakeholder Interaction:

  • EMEA Controller:
    • The EMEA Controllership Junior Accountant will closely support the EMEA Controller on all matters pertaining to entity financial reporting documents and other local filings, audit requests, etc.
  • Finance Operations teams:
    • EMEA Controllership Junior Accountant will support the Finance Operations sub-teams with transactional financial close related activities and resolving any audit related matters.

Qualifications

Education:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required in Finance / Accounting / Business Management.
  • Proficient spoken and written use of the English language

Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Accounting/Business, leadership, problem solving, process improvement, and communication.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience in Excel, and other Microsoft tools, experience in SAP preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, matrix style environment and be able to recommend and implement process improvements, work independently, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to execute and follow through on key tasks and ensure key documentation requirements are met.
  • Fluency in English - spoken and written, Spanish - would be beneficial.
