Role reports to: EHS EMEA Head

Location: Val de Reuil (France) or Wuppertal (Germany) or Helsinborg (Sweden)

Travel : 30-50%

What you will do

She/He is accountable for the deployment, and execution of Environment Health and Safety (EHS) strategies, policies, standards, compliance, risk reduction and management initiatives across 9 manufacturing and R&D sites in EMEA (East Middle East and Africa) region.

This role provides tactical EHS leadership across manufacturing and R&D sites (France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Germany, Sweden, South Africa) throughout the EMEA region.

The Director will partner closely with manufacturing operational and functional leaders to strengthen EHS culture, drive operational excellence, support risk reduction initiatives and ensure compliance across complex, multi-sites and matrix organization.

This is a highly visible leadership role offering the opportunity to influence EHS strategy and culture across a diverse manufacturing network within a global consumer health organization.

She/He will lead initiatives that align with business objectives, manage regulatory risks, and foster a culture of safety and accountability throughout the organization:

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible to deploy a culture of EHS, including Occupational Health (OH), excellence and learning in Kenvue to achieve best in class results by collaborating with regional business partners to integrate EHS into the business in a way that drives compliance and risk reduction.
  • Collaborates with the Workplace EHS Excellence team to identify regional support needs, priorities and development of standards that are fit for purpose for the Consumer business.
  • Cultivates deep expertise and fosters continuous improvement in the regional manufacturing and R&D EHS organization, processes and the digital ecosystem in execution of the EHS/OH vision, management system and assurance processes.
  • Supports risk reduction and enhance operational efficiency through cultivating reporting of Good Saves and SIF-p (Serious Injury & Fatality precursor) events.
  • Supports remove barriers in understanding EHS issues and coordinate mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Supports continuous improvement in environmental stewardship via ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and other applicable standards and achieving regional and site environmental sustainability goals.
  • Manages regional team of 9 EHS talents on sites, budgetary resources, serves as a contact to relevant governmental agencies and industry associations.
  • Responsible for building a culture that hires, grows & develops talent, inspires diversity & inclusive behaviors and enables high performing teams. 
  • In conjunction with business leaders, deploy the site implementation plan and tactics to achieve the global business and EHS vision. 
  • Accountable for successful implementation of EHS service delivery.
  • Routinely engages business leaders to review EHS/OH performance, compliance and issues.

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

  • Master degree or equivalent in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in environmental, health, and safety management roles, including leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of EHS regulatory compliance and risk management.
  • Demonstrated expertise in interpreting and applying complex regulatory requirements to develop effective compliance strategies.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence multidisciplinary teams and engage effectively with regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully implementing global or multi-site EHS initiatives.
  • Advanced knowledge of environmental regulations and technical solutions related to air quality, waste management, water treatment, and hazardous materials.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Fluent English required

Desired Qualifications

  • Proven expertise in leveraging emerging technologies such as IoT, AI, or data analytics to enhance EHS program effectiveness and predictive risk management.
  • Proficiency in standard office software including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with a focus on data analysis and reporting.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to balance long-term objectives with immediate operational needs and results.
  • Experience in building and sustaining global communities of practice to enhance organizational EHS competency and knowledge sharing.
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate a proactive safety culture through creative engagement strategies and continuous learning initiatives.
