What you will do

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) with 10+ years of hands-on experience in managing and supporting large-scale SQL Server environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in performance tuning, high availability, disaster recovery, database security, and automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, install, configure, and maintain SQL Server databases (2008R2 to latest versions).
  • Implement and maintain database security, backups, replication, clustering, and AlwaysOn Availability Groups.
  • Perform database performance tuning and optimization (indexes, stored procedures, queries).
  • Troubleshoot database-related issues including connectivity, corruption, blocking, and deadlocks.
  • Manage database deployments, migrations, patching, and upgrades.
  • Implement disaster recovery strategies and ensure high availability.
  • Automate routine tasks using PowerShell, T-SQL, and SQL Agent jobs.
  • Monitor database systems using tools like SQL Server Profiler, Extended Events, and third-party monitoring tools.
  • Collaborate with application developers and infrastructure teams to design and optimize data models.
  • Maintain documentation for database systems, processes, and policies.
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of hands-on SQL Server DBA experience.
  • Expert in SQL Server 2012/2014/2016/2019/2022.
  • Strong experience with AlwaysOn, Log Shipping, Mirroring, and Clustering.
  • Deep understanding of database architecture and internals.
  • Advanced skills in T-SQL scripting, performance tuning, and query optimization.
  • Experience with SSIS, SSRS, and SQL Server Agent.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with cloud databases (Azure SQL, AWS RDS) is a plus.
  • Experience with compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, SOX) is desirable.
  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSE: Data Management and Analytics) are a plus.
  • Highly knowledgeable on AZURE and AWS

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with hybrid cloud/on-premises environments.
  • Exposure to NoSQL, PostgreSQL, or MySQL is a bonus.
  • Background in DevOps or CI/CD for database deployments.
