Job Description: Director, Corporate Affairs, Northern Europe

Location: Reading, UK

Position Description: The Director, Corporate Affairs, Northern Europe (NE) will be responsible for key strategic projects that build visibility and reputation for Kenvue with priority stakeholders. Leading all aspects of external and internal communications, government and public affairs, media relations, and stakeholder engagement, they will enable us to shape our environment and deliver our purpose across the UK, Ireland, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Denmark.

The successful candidate will develop and lead a team of two Corporate Affairs professionals (UK and Sweden), working in close collaboration with business leaders, cross-functional teams, and global colleagues across the Corporate Affairs function.

This role sits on the Northern Europe Leadership Team and reports to the Vice President, Corporate Affairs who oversees our newly integrated Europe Middle East Africa (EMEA) – Latin America (LATAM) region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to and member of the Northern Europe Leadership team.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive Corporate Affairs strategies that support Kenvue`s business objectives in Northern Europe, shaping legislation, regulation and policies impacting FMCG and OTC sectors.
  • Execute global and regional Corporate Affairs campaigns across key markets.
  • Lead media and stakeholder engagement in Northern Europe.
  • Ensure a robust Corporate Affairs stakeholder and issues management approach is developed.
  • Develop and implement integrated, employee engagement programs to drive business objectives, talent development and employee retention.
  • Manage media partnerships and speaking opportunities that enhance visibility for senior executives and support business objectives.
  • Prepare various communications and public affairs materials including media statements, talking points, policy one-pagers, briefing documents, social media content, and media pitches.
  • Embed external environmental assessments, policy objectives and stakeholder engagement into NE`s strategic plan development and execution.
  • Work with business leaders to identify priority public policy, government affairs, and global public health/consumer access opportunities to maximize value to the business. Proactively identify opportunities where external affairs initiatives advance business strategy, address issues, strengthen alignment and convey business mission, vision and priorities.
  • Lead a coordinated approach to company trade association memberships, in partnership with commercial leaders, ensuring strong alignment to business objectives and resources, and regularly assessing progress/return on investment.
  • Cultivate and manage a strong network of key external stakeholders who can support strategic policy objectives.

Position Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • University/Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent is required.
  • Approximately 10 years of experience in media, business, or government-facing roles, with a strong track record of influencing the external environment in the UK.
  • Experience in Northern Europe markets or in OTC/Pharmaceuticals is a distinct advantage.
  • Extensive experience in leading complex issues management and government relations, with a demonstrated ability to navigate regulatory and policy landscapes.

Strategic Influence & Communication

  • Proven ability to shape narratives and drive impact through compelling storytelling—written, oral, and visual.
  • Strong relationships with national and local media, including professional/trade and social media, and the ability to influence key stakeholders across sectors.
  • Adept at articulating strategic plans that help Kenvue anticipate and respond to industry and government initiatives, balancing risk with opportunity.

  • Experience managing cross-functional project teams, external consultants, and agencies, with a focus on collaboration and shared success.

  • Comfortable engaging with senior leadership at Kenvue and high-level external stakeholders, including political and regulatory leaders.
