What will you

Job Description

The role creating significant value for Japan business growth through applying robust sourcing process.

This role will serve Business to identify unmet business needs and opportunities where Procurement can step-in, provide visibility of Procurement sourcing activities across spend categories to both business and Procurement management. On top of this, this role will be responsible in managing overall marketing categories (media, agencies, sales and distributor channels, marketing operation etc.) to maximize the value for each spend. This provides exciting opportunities to prove Procurement value to business.

He/she will develop and nurture relationship with key stakeholders in Business, and work closely with relative function teams and Finance teams to provide them with a visibility of projects that Procurement runs with Business.

Scope of responsibilities includes:

·         Connect with business to understand their business needs, partner with regional/global category on local category strategy development and deployment

·         Execute projects in Marketing categories that are in alignment with Kenvue category strategy.

·         Manage critical supplier relationship within his/her responsible category.

·         Implement Procurement compliance initiatives and training

 

Other Duties 

• Collaborate with other Procurement team members to meet Goals & Objectives of Japan Commercial Procurement team, and Participation to Procurement meetings (townhall, KPI meeting, etc.)

• Collaborate with Procurement Operation team to shape spend analysis (analysis to be run by Operation team)

• People Management Experience: No

 

Role reports to: Head of Procurement Japan

Location: Tokyo

Travel %: Less than 5%

• Consumer functional heads and their members in project team

• Japan Leadership members

• Regional/Global category managers

 

Required Qualifications

·         Broad-based understanding of business operations and practice

·         Strong Procurement experience (7+ years ) required with indirect sourcing experience, especially for marketing categories

·         Strong leadership, communication, influencing and collaboration are required

·         Able to prioritize requests, and propose effective cost/customer service alternatives when necessary

·         Ability to show judgment in developing new approaches and resolving issues

·         Ability to show strategic thinking

·         Project management skills

·         Strong business acumen

·         Strong verbal and written communication skill with ability to confidently present complex information

·         Strong contracting skillsets and experiences ( Negotiation, contract management and governance execution)

·         Japanese (Native level) and English (Fluent including verbal)

 

Desired Qualifications

• Strategic sourcing skills in Indirect Procurement area, with ability to align, document and execute sourcing strategy with stakeholders

• Experience in working in Consumer industry

• Strong influencing skills with ability to see issues from multiple viewpoints and understand differing needs of stakeholders
