What you will do

The individual is responsible for

1. Strategic Sourcing & Category Management

• Strategy Development: Create and execute 1–3 year category roadmaps that align with business growth and sustainability goals.
• Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): Identify, audit, and onboard global and regional suppliers; manage a diversified vendor base to mitigate geopolitical and financial risks.
• Cost Optimization: Drive total cost of ownership (TCO) reductions through value engineering, e-sourcing, and competitive bidding.
• Innovation: Partner with R&D and Marketing to source innovative, eco-friendly materials that enhance brand identity and reduce environmental impact

2. Supporting Operational Execution

• Order Management: Step in on need basis in the Source-to-Pay (S2P) process, including price update,  accurate PO issuance, and supplier queries.
• Supply Continuity: Support supply planning team on escalations related to availability of materials to meet production targets; resolve supply disruptions or quality deviations thereby supporting "On Time In Full" (OTIF) targets.
• Performance Monitoring: Track supplier KPIs such as lead times, defect rates, and delivery accuracy; lead  quarterly performance reviews. 

Key Responsibilities:

·       Work with regional and global category lead to support India local business needs on Packaging materials

·       Works with business and other supportive functions to fully understand business needs and search / develop / select reliable suppliers to deliver on those needs

·       Analyse, understand and interpret market dynamics and drivers, supplier capacity and constrains, quantity leverage, regional regulations and best sourcing practices

·       Sources and runs competitive bidding process for designated spend areas in line with the Global / Regional Strategy for a given category or area of spend

·       In charge of negotiations in line with category strategy

·       Effectively utilizes procurement processes and procedures to achieve procurement functional goals and corporate governance requirements, whilst delivering business needs

·       Identifies repetitive buys as candidates for frame contracts and/or catalogues. Directs country requisitions to frame contracts and/or catalogues where available

·       Delivers individual annual savings targets

·        Establishes good working relationship with functional stakeholders

·       Ensures that all relevant contractual documentation is handled as per the defined Contract Management Process

·       Identifies non added value processes or administrative work and suggest improvements

·       Works with operations, supply chain, quality and other functions to ensure suppliers deliver high performance levels

Qualifications

What we are looking for  

Required Qualifications

·       Graduate degree in engineering and a post graduate degree with 7-9 yrs experience and specialization in Operations or Supply Chain

·       Prior experience of handling Packaging Materials in a consumer industry is must.
