Assistant Manager – Demand Planning

Role reports to: General Demand & Supply Planning Manager

Location: Mumbai, India

Travel%: 10%

What you will do

The incumbent is expected to Lead Franchise wise Demand Review as part of IBP processes collaborating with partners in demand management, align on monthly rolling forecast in line with the latest trend and business strategies:

· Review statistical forecast generated and correct statistical models for correct forecast.

· Provide input on any changes required

· Collect information and collaborate with other functions such as Marketing, Sales, Finance, etc.

· Incorporate Customer and/or Market event demand that is not yet captured using representative sales history and statistical modeling

· Generate scenarios considering products, past event data, customer/market analysis, cannibalization, substitution and other relevant parameters

· Generate and update system forecast for new products and end of life exceptions.

· Enables PLAN to deliver / improve service & inventory targets by delivering/improving forecast measures for her/his portfolio.

· Partnering with project management team to ensure timely NPD/NPI launch.

· Post-launch demand to achieve customer service and optimal inventory level

The Demand Planning Manager also has Regional Demand Planning responsibilities:

· Work with regional Commercial partners to generate monthly/quarterly bottom up plans

· Collaborate with Deployment and Deliver team to enable adequate stocking and timely service of customer orders

· Develop right stocking norms for CFA-SKU combination

· Ensure efficient safety stock level to ensure customer service levels are met with effective level of inventory

· Implementation of key SC strategies like VMR, APO driven planning etc to ensure right freshness of product

The Demand Planner is responsible for delivering customer service level that is competitive in India market, balanced with efficient inventory investment based on demand plan developed in line with

commercial strategies. In this role, planner provides supply chain expertise and lead discussions in S&OP process to make decisions on demand and supply, ensure execution of the supply plan partnering with supply planners and other functions in supply chain.

Success in this role will require effective communication with cross functional team, deep understanding on supply chain, agility to react on unexpected events, proactive planning on potential events, and ability to identify approaches which meets both demand initiatives and supply capabilities.

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications:

· Master’s degree in operations management is required.

· 4-5 years of experience supply chain management or supporting supply chain preferably manufacturing, distribution, customer service and/or planning is preferred.

· The ability to lead multiple projects and initiatives and work independently while demonstrating initiative.

· Capability to work in a matrix organization where priorities change rapidly, and tight deadlines exist is required.

· Strong knowledge of Excel (i.e. v-lookups, pivot tables) is required.

· Intermediate knowledge of SAP is preferred.

· Forecasting background is preferred.

· APICS certification is preferred.

· Lean, Six-Sigma or Process Excellence training and/or certification is preferred.

· Strong stakeholder management skills

Desired Qualifications

· Validated project management skills.

· Experience with Tableau

· Six Sigma and APICS certification

· Experience demonstrating strong cross-functional business insight and ability to influence

· Successful leadership, planning management expertise, and critical thinking.
