Automation Engineer
This position reports into AIOps Service Owner and is based at Bangalore, India.

What you will do
The Automation Engineer is responsible for end-to-end automation use case ideation, requirements gathering, technology assessments, design, documentation, deployment, and actively contributing to small to medium size projects or components of a larger project, and working effectively as part of a team. As an independent contributor I/T professional, you will engage in problem solving and follow established standard operating procedures, while applying compliance requirements within the scope of your responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation and AI-driven optimization opportunities.
- Design and implement automation frameworks leveraging AI/ML models to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and user experience.
- Provide guidance to service consultants to create and execute test plans and test cases based on business requirements.
- Provide guidance to service consultants to develop and maintain test scripts using tools such as Jira to ensure high-quality delivery.
- Analyze and document problems and their resolution, incorporating predictive analytics and ML-based insights where applicable.
- Ensure the operational integrity of all changes to existing automation and AI platforms.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in automation, AI, and machine learning.
- Work with service consultants continuously to improve and optimize automation processes and frameworks using AI/ML techniques.
- Apply compliance requirements (e.g., GxP) within scope of responsibility, provide documentation as necessary, and participate in compliance activities as required.
- Analyze a chain of events and apply technical knowledge following established standard operating procedures and/or detailed specifications.
- Provide coaching as a Subject Matter Expert in automation and AI/ML to peers or less experienced staff.
What we are looking for
Required Qualifications
- 2–4 years of experience in automation using various technologies, with exposure to AI/ML concepts and applications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
- Strong programming skills in one or more languages such as Python, Java, or C# (Python preferred for ML).
- Experience with API tools such as Bruno.
- Strong experience with automation tools such as Robocorp, MS Power Platform, Playwright, etc.
- Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn) and their integration into automation workflows.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, including ability to apply data-driven approaches.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Understanding of IT organization and escalation processes.
- Ability to resolve most problems directly within area of responsibility or escalate appropriately.
- Ability to choose an approach or procedure for addressing a work task, seeking guidance as needed.
- Ability to collect facts and basic rationale to make recommendations.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with full-stack development.
- Experience with managing small to medium-sized projects from start to finish.
- Hands-on experience building or deploying ML models in production environments.
- Knowledge of AI-driven process automation and predictive analytics.
