Senior Manager Corporate Affairs Northern Europe 

Location: Stockholm, Sweden 

Position Description: The Senior Manager Corporate Affairs Northern Europe will be responsible for managing government relations, internal and external communications across the Nordics markets – Sweden, Finland, Denmark, and Norway – and contributing to the success of projects across Northern Europe and the wider business. This role reports to the Corporate Affairs Director for Northern Europe. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Cultivate and nurture a strong network of key external stakeholders– including politicians, policymakers, trade associations, public sector partners, local media, experts and influencers - to support business objectives 

  • Provide the business with insight on key political and public developments in Sweden, and where relevant from Finland, Norway and Denmark, of significance for its brands and business strategy  

  • In partnership with the Northern Europe Corporate Affairs Director, identify priority policy agendas and public health/consumer access opportunities to drive business growth, address issues, and strengthen alignment. Shape initiatives that deliver measurable impact against focused objectives for these 

  • Manage external communications and engagement, including identifying opportunities to amplify key brands and increase profile with relevant stakeholders in Sweden and other priority markets. Advise and partner with marketing teams to execute these 

  • Identify and manage reputational issues with responsiveness, convening colleagues to support 

  • Manage internal communications to ensure Nordics employees are informed, engaged, and equipped to deliver business strategy. Contribute to the management of effective internal communications across the Northern Europe region 

  • Ensure 100% compliance with internal and external policies, laws, and requirements. 

 

Position Requirements: 

Successful candidate will possess:  

  • Solid understanding of the political decision-making process in Sweden gained through at least 8 years government affairs experience (political / legislative / private/public sector) 

  • Demonstrated track record of managing and influencing stakeholders effectively 

  • Proven ability to judge optimal positioning and tone of sensitive and complex issues 

  • Exceptional oral and written communications skills in English, Swedish and ideally at least one other Nordic language 

  • Strong storytelling skills, with examples of past work demonstrating the ability to unearth and develop stories of value to the delivery of communications objectives 

  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and embrace change in a dynamic, rapidly growing environment  

  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to function well in a complex organisation and make significant contribution to the success of projects beyond own immediate remit

  • Demonstrated ability to work 1) under pressure, 2) both independently and in a team environment, and 3) with all levels of the organization as well as government officials. 

  • Experience in creating and managing complex projects 

  • High degree of organizational awareness, ability to connect the dots to understand interdependencies and big picture 

  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills 

  • Interactive, with the courage and conviction to challenge and defend ideas and strategies; ability to offer creative pathways or alternative solutions both internally and externally. 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required. 

 

 

Preferred Requirements/Competencies: 

  • Experience of working in a large multinational corporation 

  • Swedish healthcare policy network  

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze policy and public issues, and to communicate policy research and analysis findings to a variety of non-expert audiences both written and orally 

  • Understanding of the external environment relevant to Kenvue brands, including the wider consumer healthcare industry 

  • Demonstrated ability to partner with corporate/governmental/public sector leaders as a trusted advisor. 

  • Ability to navigate high-impact, high-risk and complex situations 

  • Approach of striving for continuous improvement and embracing innovative ideas in daily work 

  • Proven experience developing and implementing strategic and tactical plans. 

  • Hands-on crisis and reputation management experience 

  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers and work with other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and drive positive business impact.
