What you will do

Global Planning Excellence Director 

Planning is a critical capability within the End-to-End (E2E) Supply Chain, enabling superior service, optimized inventory and costs, improved resilience, and sustainable business growth. 

The Global Planning Excellence (GPEX) organization defines global planning standards, processes, governance, and capabilities to drive consistent execution across markets and regions.

The Regional Global Planning Excellence Director is responsible for deploying the Global Planning Excellence strategy across EMEA, ensuring the adoption of planning standards, processes, and systems while aligning global priorities with EMEA Supply Chain business needs. The role acts as a key link between Global and Regional organizations, influencing priorities, driving alignment, and supporting planning performance across the region.

The role partners closely with the Regional Supply Chain organization including Supply Chain excellence, Manufacturing, In Market Supply Chain teams, and Global stakeholders to ensure planning initiatives deliver business value and support regional objectives.

Given the evolving business landscape and integration activities, the scope of the role may continue to adapt to meet future organizational needs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Planning Foundations & Excellence

  • Deploy the Global Planning Excellence strategy across EMEA, ensuring alignment with business priorities.

  • Lead the foundational work required to align planning processes with global standards while accommodating key regional business needs.

  • Drive standardization, simplification, and adoption of planning processes, capabilities, and systems across the region.

  • Ensure appropriate governance, planning parameter management, and data quality to support planning performance.

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to strengthen planning effectiveness and business outcomes.

2. Capability Building & Organizational Excellence

  • With the support of the Global Capabilities lead, define the regional planning capability strategy and competency framework for the EMEA Region.

  • Build and sustain a Planning Community of Practice across functions, and markets.

  • Promote knowledge sharing, best-practice deployment, and continuous learning.

  • Develop organizational capabilities that enable analytical, digital, and strategic planning excellence.

3. Digital Planning & Innovation

  • Deliver and deploy the planning systems strategy and roadmap for the EMEA region.

  • Lead adoption of planning solutions, including advanced planning platforms, ERP integrations, analytics, automation, AI, and digital planning capabilities.

  • Partner with GPO teams to define future-state planning architecture and data governance standards.

  • Champion innovation by identifying and implementing emerging technologies that improve decision quality, forecasting, scenario planning, and supply chain visibility.

4. Stakeholder Leadership & Executive Influence

  • Act as the Planning Excellence representative with EMEA SCLT, driving alignment on planning priorities, standards, and capabilities.

  • Build strong partnerships with key stakeholders: Supply Chain excellence, Cluster leaders, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Executive Leadership teams.

  • Influence decision-making across a complex matrix organization.

  • Represent Planning Excellence in executive EMEA governance forums and strategic business reviews.

5. Talent Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing EMEA global Planning Excellence organization.

  • Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and performance-driven culture.

  • Establish clear objectives and accountability mechanisms for direct and indirect teams.

  • Drive employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.

  • Build future planning leaders and strengthen succession pipelines.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain

  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Experience

  • Typically 12+ years of progressive Supply Chain and Planning experience.

  • Significant leadership experience in Demand Planning, Supply Planning, IBP/S&OP, Materials Planning, Planning Transformation, or Supply Chain Excellence.

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in a matrix environment.

  • Demonstrated success implementing advanced planning systems and digital solutions.

Knowledge, Skills & Capabilities

  • Deep expertise in Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Inventory Management, S&OP/IBP, Planning Governance, and Process Excellence.

  • Strong understanding of advanced planning technologies, analytics, AI, automation, and digital transformation.

  • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate vision into execution.

  • Exceptional leadership, influencing, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong business acumen and understanding of end-to-end supply chain dynamics.

  • Ability to lead organizational change and drive adoption at all levels.

  • Results-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Demonstrated ability to build high-performing global teams.
