Category Manager (m/f/d)

                

Location: Neuss, Germany

Travel: 10%

What you will do

  • Develop Category Visions for your categories together with local, regional and global stakeholders.
  • Maintain, expand and build trustful partnerships with key customers, particularly in the drugstore sector
  • Identify business opportunities within your categories and develop category management strategies and category growth stories to achieve these
  • Generate insights through the analysis of category, brand, and competitor data, including collaboration with other internal departments and external service providers
  • Be the source of category insights for the organization
  • Create internal and external assortment and placement recommendations
  • Independently conduct customer- and category-specific market research studies in close collaboration with the market research team.
  • Closely collaborate with Customer & Shopper Activation, Perfect Store, Sales, Market Research and Marketing to accelerate the physical availability of our brands and to drive category growth
  • Demonstrate an owner’s mindset by enhancing our Category Management approach, challenging the status quo and implementing new ways of working & tools

What we are looking for

  • University/Bachelors Degree or Equivalent in Business Administration or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in Category Management, Marketing or Sales in the FMCG/OTC industry.
  • Certification in category management (GS1 or equivalent) is optional
  • Very good proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel & Power Point)
  • Knowledge of analyzing GfK and Nielsen panel data & working with SpaceMan is optional
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a pronounced affinity for data and numbers
  • Advanced understanding of the German retail landscape (especially drugstores & pharmacies) & strong connection to key customers & buyers
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging various stakeholders (internal & external), fostering a collaborative work environment and building powerful partnerships with customers
  • Fluency in German & English is required
