Work Location:

Hybrid

(Mainly Tokyo Kudan-shita Office, Tokyo Ebisu Office, combined with remote-work. Max.6 times a year 1-night business trips to Central Osaka / Sapporo to visit customer headquarters.)

Job Function:

Simultaneous interpreting in meetings, minimal document translating.

What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities):

  • 40% responsibility is to support interpretation for the Korean President of Kenvue Japan.

  • 45% responsibility is to support interpretation for the company in general (marketing, supply chain, R&D, HR etc.).

  • 15% responsibility is to provide administrative support, including but not limited to: Zoom link creation for online meetings, translation of documents when only single-language version is available, overseas guests visit support.

 

Key Stakeholders:

  • Korean President of Kenvue Japan (non-JP speaker)

  • British Senior Marketing Manager (non-JP speaker) managing non-ENG speaker team and external agencies

  • In-general non-ENG speaker DR.CI:LABO team, including Japanese Sales Director of DR.CI:LABO

  • Multiple South-East Asian Supply Chain leaders (non-JP speaker)

  • Bilingual executive assistants

What we are looking for:

  • When required, able to provide simultaneous interpretation for multiple hours with 10min break every 2 hours (1hr lunch separate).

  • This is a rare case, max. 3 days a month. Normally able to take 30min break every 2 hours (1hr lunch separate).

  • Native in Japanese.

  • Crisp oral and written communications in English.

  • Over 5 years of translation/simultaneous interpretation experience from English óJapanese.

  • Ability to adapt quickly and work successfully in an evolving and culturally diverse environment.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements with strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Willing to communicate to ensure smooth project delivery and execution, and always alert for emails from interpretation requestors.

  • [Nice to have] Interpreting experience in consumer goods, beauty, direct-to-consumer industries.
