What You Will Do 

The position is responsible for:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, prioritize, and drive effective project execution related to increased profitability, growth, agility, reliability, and business continuity initiatives for the Essential Health franchise in India

  • Lead cross-functional project teams in a matrix environment from project approval through project completion, partnering with the other functions of the Essential Health Supply Chain VSL/PMO team, manufacturing sites (internal & external), Integrated Planning, Strategic Sourcing, Commercial marketing teams, Quality, Finance, and Regulatory

  • Provide strategic leadership to the project team, articulating the global plan and ensuring global project objectives and key milestones are achieved

  • Lead project risk assessment/management that incorporates all global and regional project risks in all stages of SPEED (Smart Project Execution & Delivery)

  • Identify and communicate change in project scope to senior leaders, providing recommended path forward and applicable alternatives

  • Drive execution of E2E cost improvement workshops. Validate, prioritize, and drive scoping of opportunities until project approval and ready for handover to project managers for execution

  • Coordinate and lead project team meetings as needed. Maintain effective communication and working relationships among the project core team

  • Work with cross-functional team members to assess the feasibility of project scope & FPOs and develop detailed project timelines to build sufficient flexibility and contingency in the plan to respond to unanticipated difficulties

  • Lead risk analysis & mitigation planning for projects

  • Identify, monitor, communicate, and resolve issues, scope changes, budget variances, or other FPO hurdles that may arise during project execution

  • Support the development and deployment of core capabilities for the region to support activity from Conceptualization to Execution: Idea Assessment & Business Case Development and Validation; Portfolio & Project Governance/Portfolio Entry; Portfolio Trade-offs; Strategy Linkage & Resource Optimization; BU SC capacity and resource management, and Portfolio/Program/Project Analytics

Position Requirements:

  • Ability to lead, empower, influence, and supervise cross-functional teams

  • Ability to manage key stakeholders and work with senior leaders

  • Business case development skills, financial skills, and understanding of the end-to-end business impact

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills; can work with details

  • Strong Project Management experience

  • Prioritization and decision-making skills

  • Talent development skills

  • Problem-solving skills

  • Ability to perform well under pressure, adapt to changes, and meet targets

  • Able to independently create and deliver results

  • Outstanding follow-up skills to ensure that actions are completed and issues are resolved in a timely manner

  • Effective English verbal and written communication skills, including excellent presentation skills

  • Knowledge of SPEED process and key requirements from each function

  • Operations awareness

  • Commercial awareness

Qualifications - External

What We Are Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree required; Advanced degree preferred

  • Minimum of  12 years of business/work experience required with cross-functional experience, for example, but not limited to R&D, Engineering, Supply Chain, Marketing, or Finance preferred

  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams is preferred

  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) are required.

  • Experience in a matrix team environment preferred

  • Experience working in FMCG industry is preferred

  • Knowledge of New Product Development and Life Cycle Management preferred

  • Experience using a PPM tool to manage a portfolio of projects preferred

  • Knowledge of Process Excellence methodologies preferred

  • Demonstrated experience in project/program management process/cycle required

  • PMP certification and/or other industry and project management certifications a plus
