We are looking for a Distribution & Transportation Operations Coordinator to lead and coordinate logistics activities for the Portuguese market, ensuring efficient, reliable, and cost-effective transportation and distribution operations aligned with agreed service levels and company standards.
The role is responsible for supervising day-to-day distribution and transportation operations, managing logistics service providers, and ensuring continuous improvement in performance, compliance, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate daily transportation and distribution operations for the Portugal market.
Ensure achievement of operational KPIs, including service level, on-time delivery, cost, quality, and safety.
Manage relationships with transportation providers and logistics partners, including performance reviews and issue resolution.
Coordinate load planning, routing, and capacity management to optimize resources and costs.
Oversee shipment execution, delivery performance, and claims and incident management.
Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, local legislation, and company policies.
Monitor operational data and prepare performance reports and analysis.
Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, service, and cost optimization.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Customer Service, Supply Chain, Planning, and Finance teams.
Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.
Requirements
University degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in transportation and/or distribution operations, preferably in an international environment.
Solid knowledge of logistics and transportation processes, KPI management, and carrier performance management.
Experience working with Iberian markets, especially Portugal.
Experience using ERP systems (SAP preferred) and analytical tools (Excel, Power BI, or similar).
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage operational incidents.
Results-oriented, proactive, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Be willing to travel periodically to the warehouse and operational sites, as required, to support specific topics such as operational reviews, issue resolution, audits, or improvement initiatives.
Languages
Portuguese: fluent or advanced (mandatory)
Spanish: advanced
English: intermediate to advanced (preferred)
