Role reports to: Head of Q&C India

Location: Mumbai

What you will do

The Senior Manager, Make Quality is responsible for leading plant quality operations across Kenvue India’s internal manufacturing sites and external manufacturing partners responsible for manufacturing of Engineered Products Viz. Sanitary Napkins in compliance with BIS requirements and Ear buds. This role ensures compliance with global and local regulatory requirements, drives continuous improvement, and safeguards product quality and consumer trust.

Key Responsibilities:

Plant Quality Operations

  • Ensure that manufacturing sites of engineered products have established and effectively maintained quality management system and quality practices that meet Kenvue requirements.

  • Oversee quality operations for internal manufacturing plant of Kenvue India located at Mulund, Mumbai, in line with the local regulatory as well as Kenvue Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.

  • Oversight the manufacturing of engineered products at external manufacturing plants in line with the local regulatory as well as Kenvue Quality Management System requirements.

  • Ensure qualification and governance of external manufacturing plants as per Kenvue QMS

  • Drive initiatives for cost optimization, waste reduction, and margin improvement through packaging and formulation enhancements, through effectively collaborating & involving the relevant business stakeholders.

  • Ensure adequate resource allocation and their effective deployment to support the business.

  • Ensure deployment /development of adequate Plant QA Operating model to oversight the manufacturing and quality control of engineered products for sale into the market.

  • Ensure all Plant Quality processes and associated QMS standards are designed fit-for- purpose, meeting the business expectations (customer service) & consumer needs.

  • Work closely with Commercial Quality, R&D, TechOps and Make teams for handling customer & consumer complaints, for their effective investigation and closures meeting the internal timeline metrics.

  • Lead discussions around quality, regulatory and safety related events pertaining to Products, Manufacturing and Quality Control Processes, for their effective investigation, and required escalation.

  • Partner with Commercial Quality, Supplier Quality, and Global Quality teams to resolve escalations and align strategies.

  • Engage with cross-functional teams to support new product introductions and process improvements (NPI/NPD and Commercial Innovations).

  • Partner with TechOps, Engineering, LCM and Make teams for all Plant and/or product manufacturing related Technology Transfers, Validation activities in line with VMP/ Validation scheduler (Product, Production System, Manufacturing Facility, Laboratory System, etc.)

  • Ensure effective adherence & compliance of all Kenvue Policies, Code of Conducts and continue building capabilities.

  • Work closely with shop-floor / Make teams for effective deployment of Proactive Quality programs, build Proactive Quality Culture through strong collaboration with site leadership team (SLT) and relevant stakeholders.

  • Effective deployment of Global programs around QMS and, also the programs around Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Laboratory Execution Systems (LES).

Quality Management Systems & Regulatory Compliance

  • Implement and maintain robust QMS, including Deviation & CAPA management, Change Control, Audit & Inspection, and Escalation processes.

  • Ensure adherence to global standards and local regulatory requirements for the manufacturing of Engineered products (Sanitary napkins, ear buds) for local and export markets.

  • Lead internal and external audits; ensure readiness for regulatory inspections and any external audits by any authority or body.

  • Develop audit preparedness programs and mentor teams on compliance best practices.

  • Effective deployment of Global Quality Metrics and Quality Planning across plants.

  • Ensure capability building around Kenvue QHS (Quality & EHS) related requirements across manufacturing plants.

Continuous Improvement & Talent Development

  • Champion projects for sustainability, plant QA processes, manufacturing efficiencies, quality control laboratory, and packaging innovation.

  • Develop and Implement actions to remediate / mitigate quality & safety risks.

  • Encourage and ensure teams continue building their capabilities around contemporaneous requirements and technologies.

  • Own the development and career progression plans for the Make Quality team.

What we are looking for

  • Education: Bachelor’s/master’s degree in microbiology, textile, chemistry, food technology, pharmacy, or related sciences

  • Experience: 15+ years in Quality Assurance/Compliance within FMCG, Pharma, or Consumer Health industries

  • Strong knowledge of QMS, regulatory compliance, and audit management

  • Leadership and team development capabilities

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Strong Regulatory Acumen

  • Good Business/ Financial Acumen

  • Decision making and problem solving
