What You Will Do 

The Trade Governance Lead (People Manager) leads a team responsible for executing the company’s trade governance framework, internal control activities, audit readiness, and post-entry review program. The role ensures consistent application of trade requirements through effective control execution, documentation, and remediation practices.

This position combines trade governance expertise, audit coordination, post-entry review oversight, and people leadership, strengthening compliance and control effectiveness across the assigned scope

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team responsible for trade governance, controls, audits, and post-entry reviews
  • Oversee governance and control activities across assigned countries, trade lanes, or business units
  • Ensure key trade controls are executed, documented, and evidenced consistently
  • Review trade compliance performance, audit findings, post-entry review results, and risk trends
  • Support customs valuation, tariff classification, origin determination, and duty management within controlled environments
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, including planning, evidence preparation, and response management
  • Oversee the post-entry review program, ensuring findings are analyzed and corrective actions implemented
  • Ensure audit findings, control deficiencies, and post-entry review issues are tracked, remediated, and closed
  • Maintain and enhance governance documentation, control narratives, and evidence repositories
  • Coach and develop team members in governance execution, audit readiness, and escalation discipline
  • Escalate material risks or unresolved issues to senior leadership

Team Leadership and People Management

  • Direct people management responsibility
  • Accountable for team performance, capability development, workload
  • management and coaching

Budget & Financial Accountability

  • No direct P&L ownership
  • May manage limited departmental budgets related to governance activities or tools
  • Accountable for financial accuracy impacts related to controls and post-entry review outcomes

Qualifications & Experience Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s/Post Graduate degree in Supply Chain, International Business, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of experience in trade operations, customs compliance, or trade governance
  • Prior people leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong working knowledge of trade regulations, governance controls, and audit processes
  • Knowledge of additional languages (Thai,Indo) will be an added advantage

Ideal Candidate Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive trade governance or operations experience
  • Experience managing audits, control remediation programs, or post-entry review teams
  • Familiarity with internal control frameworks and documentation standards Trade compliance or customs certification
