What you will do
The Laboratory Chemist is responsible for performing complex tests and analyses to ensure product compliance with specifications, collecting and analyzing data on product defects, and supporting process improvements. You will document results, review inspection logs, and collaborate with teams to identify and address quality issues:
Key Responsibilities
Design, conduct, and perform complex chemical experiments and tests to analyze compounds and materials with precision, ensuring product compliance with quality specifications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including customers and suppliers, to develop, optimize, and align on new chemical processes, formulations, and quality standards.
Utilize advanced analytical instruments and perform detailed calculations to generate accurate data, interpret results, and identify trends related to product defects and raw material inconsistencies.
Document, securely maintain, and creatively present experimental procedures, findings, and test results to enhance reproducibility, knowledge sharing, and effective communication within the team.
Contribute to and support process improvement initiatives, quality control projects, and the development of work processes, performance metrics, and measurement systems for continuous improvement.
Maintain strict adherence to laboratory safety protocols, regulatory guidelines, and contribute ideas to improve lab safety and environmental sustainability practices.
Assist in troubleshooting, refining laboratory techniques, and preparing technical reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations effectively.
What we are looking for
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline, or equivalent education.
0-2 years of experience in a laboratory or quality control environment, preferably within a regulated industry.
Basic knowledge of laboratory practices and ability to perform manual setup and operation of laboratory or pilot-scale equipment.
Familiarity with cGMP standards and experience using word processing, spreadsheet, and database documentation software.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare clear and concise technical documentation.
Capable of working independently while effectively managing multiple tasks and priorities.
Desired Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical laboratory scenarios with minimal supervision.
Proficiency in using modern analytical instruments such as HPLC, GC-MS, or spectroscopy tools.
Basic knowledge of statistical analysis methods and exposure to statistical software tools.
Strong problem-solving skills with a creative approach to experimental design and data interpretation.
Excellent communication skills to effectively document and present scientific findings.
Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced research environment, showing initiative beyond standard protocols.
Proactive problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and recommend practical solutions.
Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment and influence quality improvements.
