What you will do
The Demand Lead will deliver best-in-class customer service for emerging & alternate channels like Modern Trade, E-Commerce, CSD, and International businesses that are competitive in the market, balanced with efficient inventory investment based on a demand plan developed in line with commercial strategies. In this role, the planner provides supply chain expertise and leads discussions in the S&OP process to make decisions on demand and supply and ensure execution of the supply plan by partnering with supply planners and other functions in the supply chain.
Success in this role will require effective communication with the cross-functional team, a deep understanding of the supply chain, agility to react to unexpected events, proactive planning on potential events, and ability to identify approaches that meet demand initiatives and supply capabilities
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the demand forecasting process in delivering accurate demand and shipping forecasts and providing meaningful market intelligence to achieve sustainable growth and exceed overall business expectations
- Develop accurate demand forecasts for products within emerging channels, incorporating sales, marketing, and market intelligence inputs
- Work with Commercial channel partners to generate monthly/quarterly bottom-up plans
- Drive KPI improvement - Forecast Accuracy and Bias at m-3, m-1 level , OTIF – D to customer and reconciled with customer, Inventory in Days of High contribution SKUs
- Work closely with commercial and marketing teams to understand the Demand building blocks, Promotion Schemes, Customer specific offers , NPD and new stores additions to build a robust Demand outlook as part of S&OP process
- Co-lead the development and execution of innovative strategies on Joint Business Planning and Customer collaboration for emerging channels to drive demand generation and Higher OSA for customers
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously support Marketing and Customer Development team efforts
- Develop and deploy long-term forecast plan aligned with Overall Portfolio and Brand channel growth Strategy
- Understand any System, IT issues on EDI transfer of Orders , Shelf life, MDM issues and lead , support to resolve
- Identify customer expectations and create processes to effectively meet them
- Collaborate extensively with external business partners to support demand supply decisions, short term and midterm Product availability and Throughput
- Utilize process excellence techniques for initiative deployment
- Work on Data on Customer Sale out and Inventory at Customer DC nodes to generate exceptions for actions on low stock and non-moving stock
- Collaborate with Supply Planning and Distribution teams for Inventory deployment and sufficiency at all Network DC’s, also incorporate exceptions as from Weekly S&OE with KAM’s and E comm leads into the revised distribution plans
- Monitor inventory levels, inventory positioning, and planned production and sales forecasts
- Keep track of inventories and Stock freshness in line with Customer TAT by developing and maintaining inputs to inventory system
- Coordinate with Inventory Planning, production planning, and warehouse personnel to ensure appropriate routing, scheduling, and storing of goods
- Examine internal capacity and review plans to align supply and demand to meet customer requirement
What we are looking for
Required Qualifications
- 6-8 years of experience in Supply Chain Management or supporting supply chain, preferably distribution, customer service, and planning is preferred, with min 2 years in lead role
- University/bachelor’s degree
- 6-8 years related experience in Planning, Operations, Customer development
- Experience in FMCG is preferred
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations is preferred
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions
- Ability to establish and maintain credibility as a knowledgeable business partner across business functions
- Demonstrated influence management skills
- The ability to lead multiple projects and initiatives and work independently while demonstrating initiative.
- The capability to work in a matrix organization where priorities change rapidly and tight deadlines exist is required
- Intermediate knowledge of SAP is preferred.
- APICS certification is preferred.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented mindset, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong business acumen and understanding of market dynamics, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape
