Lead Portfolio Analyst (Essential Health & Self care)

Job Description Summary 

Lead Portfolio Analytics Analyst is a newly created role in the Consumer Business Intelligence Analytics organisation and will be responsible for providing systems and insights that drive a successful innovation pipeline across our Essential Health & Self Care Segments.

This role will report into the Director Innovation & Strategy Analytics to ensure consistency in analytical approaches while supporting our Innovation Portfolio Management Group.  This group works directly with our brand development teams to ensure sufficient innovation pipelines that support their brand strategies. 

Key Deliverables / Responsibilities 

  • Provide detailed analytics, tools and insight to proactively identify innovation opportunities, trends, and risks across our portfolio.
  • Provide un-biased assessment of current innovation plans to ensure sufficiency against brand growth objectives
  • Develop actionable insights on drivers of executional/in-market success to improve innovation sufficiency leveraging internal and external sources.
  • Track in-market performance and drive continual improvement.
  • Define analytical systems and processes for innovation management.
  • Partner with Brand Development teams to setup reporting of innovation performance to validate and optimize management of forecasting process
  • Optimise reporting, to meet evolving business needs and drive adoption through process, training and support  
  • Identify key insights through superior analytics and communication skills to influence the business to optimize investment
  • Provide outside-in mindset and continuously review external market landscape to stay on top of competitor innovation trends and identify new areas or best practices for future innovation.

Qualifications and Skills 

  • Education: Degree in marketing, finance, sciences, or economics is preferred
  • Experience: A minimum of 5+ years of FMCG or similar experience with a strong understanding of the Innovation design development process, testing, forecasting and tracking.
  • Passion for Analytics: Passionate about analytics and technology, staying updated with the latest trends.
  • Analytical Skills: Highly analytical with experience in analytics, capable of making logical assumptions and identifying data outliers. 
  • Visualization Tools: Experience with data visualization or BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI 
  • Analytics Tools: Familiarity with data analytics tools and platforms such as SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI, or similar. 
  • Communication and Influence: Excellent communication skills and proven examples of translating complex analytics for business consumption
  • Business Acumen: Desire and ability to understand the broader business context and how analytics impact strategic decisions. 
  • Project Management: Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. 
  • Stakeholder Management: Experience working in a matrix organization and managing relationships with various stakeholders. 
  • Independence: Ability to work independently with an entrepreneurial mindset and multitasking aptitude. 
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail, comfortable making logical assumptions and validating data outliers. 
  • Good knowledge of CPG industry, business theory, processes and process improvement methodologies, preferably with experience across new product development
