Manager, Category Insights to Action – Upper Respiratory is responsible for supporting Senior Manager, Category Insights to Action, Self-Care in shaping the category's future, contributing to the development of national best-in-class category fundamentals, and helping to craft category leadership stories based on key data, shopper insights, and trends. This role involves regular cross-functional collaboration, working with both internal and external partners to achieve results for Kenvue, the shopper, and our retail customers.
As a Manager, Category Insights to Action – Upper Respiratory, you will lead the strategic direction for category excellence, translating insights into actionable strategies that drive growth and innovation. You will be responsible for shaping the future of the Upper Respiratory category, championing data-driven decision-making, and elevating Kenvue’s position as a trusted advisor to retail partners.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will support our business by:
Strategic Leadership & Vision
Own the development and execution of national best-in-class category strategies for Upper Respiratory, leveraging advanced analytics, shopper insights, and market trends to set the vision and direction for the category.
Lead cross-functional teams to align on category priorities, ensuring strategies are integrated across brand, sales, and customer teams.
Insights Generation & Activation
Oversee the synthesis of complex data sets (shopper panel, syndicated sources like Nielsen/IRI, survey, and custom research) to uncover actionable insights that inform business decisions and category growth opportunities.
Translate insights into compelling narratives and recommendations that influence senior stakeholders and drive omni-channel activation.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
Build and nurture strategic relationships with key retail partners, positioning Kenvue as the category thought leader and trusted advisor in Upper Respiratory.
Represent the category in high-level customer meetings, delivering persuasive presentations and tailored solutions that address retailer and shopper needs.
Innovation & Opportunity Identification
Proactively identify emerging trends, white space opportunities, and unmet shopper needs within Upper Respiratory, guiding the organization to capitalize on growth areas.
Champion the development and implementation of innovative solutions and pilots that advance category leadership.
Research Leadership
Partner closely with the Shopper Insights team, who lead the design and execution of research initiatives, to ensure alignment with Upper Respiratory category priorities.
Act as the strategic bridge between research outputs and retail activation by translating insights into actionable recommendations for customer teams.
Drive the integration of research findings into category strategies, ensuring insights inform omni-channel plans and retailer-specific solutions.
Influence how insights are communicated internally and externally, crafting compelling narratives that elevate Kenvue’s position as a trusted advisor.
Matrix Collaboration & Influence
Serve as the central point of contact for category insights, facilitating alignment and collaboration across field teams, internal stakeholders, and customer strategy partners.
Influence decision-making at all levels by communicating clear, data-driven recommendations and fostering a culture of insights-driven action.
Talent Development & Mentorship
Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering analytical excellence and strategic thinking within the Category Insights function.
What we are looking for
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field
A minimum of 3 years prior experience in customer sales, category insights/management, analytics, shopper marketing/insights, or related field in a consumer products environment
Experience with syndicated data sources and consumer panels, like Nielsen, IRI, Numerator are required
Ability to prioritize and deliver against competing demands
Ability to digest and understand large quantities of data and information, and effectively communicate key take aways for retailers and our Kenvue brand partners
Demonstration of strong presentation skills and ability to tailor communication style to a variety of key decision makers
Use data driven insights and facts to deliver persuasive content to gain support for business strategies / or initiatives
Prior Health and Beauty Care (HBC) category experience
Comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast paced, matrixed environment
