Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Manager of Data Engineering to lead our data engineering team and drive the design, development, and optimization of modern data platforms and pipelines. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise, proven leadership skills, and a passion for building scalable, high-quality data solutions that empower analytics and business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy.
Provide strategic direction for data engineering initiatives, aligning with organizational goals. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of data engineers. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Data Platform & Pipeline Development.
Architect and implement robust, scalable, and secure data pipelines and workflows. Drive adoption and optimization of modern data platforms and tools (e.g., Snowflake, dbt, Airflow). Ensure efficient orchestration and transformation of data using SQL and Python.
Data Architecture & Governance.
Design and maintain enterprise-grade data architecture and data models. Implement best practices for data governance, data quality, and compliance. Establish standards for data engineering excellence and operational reliability.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management.
Partner with analytics, product, and business teams to deliver data solutions that meet evolving needs. Communicate technical concepts and strategic vision effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 14+ years of professional experience in data engineering or related fields, with at least 5+ years in leadership roles.
Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of modern data platforms and tooling (Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, etc.). Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python for data transformation, orchestration, and analytics workflows. Strong understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and end-to-end pipeline design.
Governance & Best Practices: Solid knowledge of data governance, data quality frameworks, and engineering best practices.
Leadership: Fully autonomous senior professional with proven ability to lead, mentor, and inspire teams. Strategic vision and sound judgment to guide complex data initiatives.
Preferred Skills
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Familiarity with CI/CD for data workflows.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
