We are excited to announce two openings within our team: a temporary position for a duration of 1 year and a permanent role.
The Microbiologist I is responsible for performing environmental monitoring, lab assays, and biomarker identification using state-of-the-art techniques. You will assist with microbial testing, maintain accurate documentation, analyze data, and operate laboratory equipment to support development programs
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, execute, and interpret innovative microbiological and biological experiments to explore microbial behaviors, biological pathways, and interactions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop novel microbial assays and support production and manufacturing processes of biochemical, chemical, biological, and immunological products.
- Conduct environmental monitoring, laboratory assays, biomarker identification, and complex microbial testing including biological indicator, growth promotion, endotoxin, and bioburden assessments.
- Utilize and maintain cutting-edge laboratory techniques and equipment to isolate, characterize microorganisms, and ensure optimal instrument performance.
- Prepare and standardize reagents, controls, and standards following validated procedures while implementing and upholding quality control measures and quality programs.
- Ensure meticulous documentation, timely reporting, and compliance with established protocols and regulatory standards.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data using current scientific literature to provide informed scientific insights and recommendations.
- Contribute to the creation of detailed scientific and technical reports, manuscript development, and presentations to internal teams and external collaborators.
- Manage multiple projects independently while effectively influencing team members and stakeholders.
- Engage in continuous learning to integrate emerging microbiological technologies and methodologies into daily research.
What we are looking for
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in microbiology, biology, or a related scientific discipline.
- Minimum 2-5 years relevant experience in a Quality, or R&D environment in the pharmaceutical, food or water industries.
- Strong computer skills and ERP system knowledge
- Experience with Analytical Laboratory equipment and methods is an asset
- Good interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Enjoys working to multiple deadlines in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize workload
- Good technical writing, verbal communication, and problem-solving skills.
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of Process Excellence/Lean an asset.
- Basic understanding of statistical analysis and experience with statistical software.
What’s in it for you
Annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges:$53,000.00 - $86,135.00
This takes into account a number of factors including work location, the candidate’s skills, experience, education level & other job-related factors.
