Job Description

The Prototype Engineer will be responsible for developing, assembling, and testing prototypes to support product development. This role requires a hands-on approach and strong collaboration with design, development, and production teams to create functional models that meet design and quality standards. 

The Engineer will be also responsible for Assist Prototyping Lab in all creation phases, from sample construction, and assembly to product. Creation of physical prototypes through for instance: Urethane Vacuum Casting, CNC Machining, Model Making & etc. Hands-on CNC machining from 3D CAD, CAM programming, CNC machine setup until the finished product.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build prototypes based on design specifications

  • Test prototypes to evaluate functionality and performance.

  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to refine prototype designs.

  • Identify and address any issues or improvements in the prototypes.

  • Document and report testing results and prototype performance.

  • Ensure prototypes meet all safety and regulatory requirements.

  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to contribute to innovative design solutions

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Design, Marketing, Supply Chain, and ESG) to drive executional excellence

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with regional/global packaging suppliers for rapid tooling, ensuring strategic partnerships,

  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Plastics/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or equivalent specialization.

  • 5+ years of experience in Plastics Molding process

  • Strong knowledge of plastic molding materials, technologies, and processes

  • Rapid molding technical knowledge :  i.e quick aluminum mold, soft mold, silicon mold, CNC machine, SLA , SLS, etc.

  • Strong knowledge of packaging quality standards

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a global team

  • Experience in prototype development and testing.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and technical knowledge.

  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

  • CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)

  • 3D printing technology

  • Prototyping techniques

  • Mechanical testing and analysis
