What you will do

Seeking a motivated individual to lead packaging lab analysts with testing agility, consumer centricity, simplicity, and continuous improvement and add value to the packaging lab by effectively collaborating with our partners at Kenvue. Drive the application of best-in-class scientific ways of working with the lab team with lab risk assessments, hands-on test execution, investigations, and training/upskilling to enhance consumer value delivery. This role reports to the Associate Director, Global Packaging Labs.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the planning of tests to perform on a weekly basis with the lab team

  • Monitor Lab KPI’s to maintain zero test backlog and address areas to improve with the lab team

  • Support robust test plan creation with the lab team and packaging engineering to capture risks with technical rigor and removing complexity for packaging materials and products in accordance with industry standards and regulations

  • Evaluate packaging performance under various conditions (e.g., temperature, humidity, pressure)

  • Analyze and interpret test results to identify potential issues and make recommendations for improvements

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement packaging solutions that meet customer needs and specifications

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in packaging technology to continuously improve testing methods and processes

  • Maintain accurate records of testing procedures and results for future reference and analysis

  • Assist in the development of new products and technologies.

  • Conduct hands-on testing for design verification and test method development.

  • Draft technical reports, work instructions, and method and process validations.

  • Lead and support the lab team with defect investigations and root cause analysis

  • Manage and schedule equipment calibrations and maintenance

  • Draft onboarding training materials for lab analysts

  • Train and coach lab analysts

  • Contribute to prototype, tool, and fixture testing following fabrication to ensure that they meet specifications.

  • Collaborate with manufacturing and production engineering groups to provide engineering and design services.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations

What We Are Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Materials Science, or related field

  • 3+ years of experience in a packaging testing or related role

  • Experience with leading and supervising a team

  • Experience in product testing and design verification.

  • Experience in owning tasks and driving the tasks to completion by partnering with team members

Desired Qualifications

  • Being proactive with leading continuous improvement

  • Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and software

  • Experience in managing the function of a laboratory in a GxP environment

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations for packaging materials and products

  • Ability to conduct basic scientific research on new products and technology concepts

What’s in it for you

Annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges:

$72,675.00 - $102,600.00

This takes into account a number of factors including work location, the candidate’s skills, experience, education level & other job-related factors.
