HybridWhat you will do
This role serves as a member of the Kenvue Intellectual Property team, providing patent counseling and strategic support for innovation and product development across the region, with a primary focus on Brazil. The position partners closely with the global Patent Team, R&D, commercial, and cross-functional legal colleagues to protect and advance the company’s technology, support business growth, and manage intellectual property risk.
The successful candidate will combine strong Brazilian patent law knowledge with a sound technical understanding of the company’s technology and will have the ability to translate legal advice into practical business guidance. This role requires collaboration within a global IP organization while independently supporting regional projects and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive patent support, including patent preparation and prosecution
Support freedom‑to‑operate (FTO) assessments, patent landscaping, and related counseling for product development and commercialization
Assist with intellectual property due diligence activities related to business development initiatives
Support R&D agreements and collaborate with cross‑functional teams on IP-related provisions
Contribute to patent enforcement, pre‑litigation assessment, and litigation support activities in coordination with internal and external counsel
Develop and maintain a strong understanding of relevant technologies, competitive landscapes, and commercial strategies
Partner closely with R&D and commercial teams across Brazil and the broader Latin American region to influence project‑level decisions
Present IP strategies and concepts to internal stakeholders and provide training on patent-related topics
Collaborate with global patent and legal colleagues to deliver aligned, holistic intellectual property guidance
Qualifications – Required
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Law, or a related technical field
Relevant experience, which may include a combination of technical and patent legal experience
Working knowledge of Brazilian patent law and procedures before the INPI
Professional working proficiency in both Portuguese and English
Ability to work effectively under the supervision of senior and global patent attorneys
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage technical, commercial, and legal audiences
Qualifications – Desired
Advanced technical or legal degree
Experience in both a law firm and an in‑house, multinational company environment
Experience supporting consumer health products, including OTC medicines, skin health, oral care, or related categories
