What you will do

The Plant Controller is a key leader at the Las Piedras manufacturing site, responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial reporting activities, with a primary focus on cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and operational analysis. In addition, this role is a strategic business partner to the plant management team, providing the data and insights necessary to drive efficient and profitable operations as it delivers both short and long-term goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure monthly financial closing process reflects accurate financial position and is completed in accordance with local and corporate regulatory requirements.
  • Serves as a key member in the Plant Leadership Team providing support and financial insights acting as a strategic financial partner to the Plant Manager and leadership team while cultivating both internal and external partnerships.
  • Lead the development of the Plant long range financial plan in partnership with various groups by translating insights into cost effective, value adding solutions while creating roadmap to achieve long term financial goals.
  • Oversees capital expenditure process at the plant level ensuring capital efficient investments, from initial analysis and budgeting to post-implementation review
  • Reporting of actual results for current expenditure relating to the budget, and the explanations for variations monitoring key financial metrics and operating performance indicators.
  • Directs preparation of budgets, reviews proposals and prepares necessary business justification.
  • Actively participates in meetings, and keeps senior management informed on the current financial position and risks.
  • Serve as the key financial liaison between the manufacturing site and the corporate finance team
  • Ensure full compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), corporate policies, and other relevant regulatory requirements
  • Implement and maintain a strong internal control environment to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Provide guidance and training to department staff on financial controls and best practices.
  • Coordinate and lead internal and external financial audits for the plant.
  • Create an environment where leadership, engagement and talent development are top priorities. Lead and adapt to change in future organizational model.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required preferably in Accounting or Finance
  • A minimum of 7-10+ years of hands-on operational experience in finance/accounting related field including previous managerial experience
  • The candidate must possess excellent analytical, conceptual, communication and interpersonal skills as well as strong presentation skills
  •  Proficiency in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems- SAP, as well as advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI is a plus.
  • Ability to influence others in a matrix organization
  • Work will be in a dynamic environment and be able to recommend and implement process improvements
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams

Preferred:

  • Business experience in at least one of the following areas: Finance Supply Chain, Cost Accounting
  • Prior experience working in manufacturing environment
  • MBA and/or CPA, CMA

What’s in it for you

Annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges:

$147,900.00 - $208,800.00

This takes into account a number of factors including work location, the candidate’s skills, experience, education level & other job-related factors.
