What you will do

The Cluster Leader is a strategic and influential role responsible for overseeing and guiding the North Asia Process Science team. This position will ensure that processes and ways of working supports the robust product development, process optimization, and adherence to quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process development, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategy:

  • Provide technical leadership to the Process Science team, setting clear expectations on deliverable and fostering a culture of excellence.

  • Collaborate proactively with cross functional leaders to ensure that company targets and priorities are delivered as per business need

  • KPIs:

    • Employee engagement scores within the Cluster he / she leads

    • Alignment of process science priorities with the cluster objectives

Executional Excellence:

  • Ensure consistent execution of a single, standardized process across all operations aligned within the Region / Globally

  • Minimize errors, improve efficiency, and maintain high-quality standards.

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to process performance.

  • KPIs:

    • Process adherence rate (percentage of processes executed as per standard).

    • Error rate in process execution.

Product Development:

  • Oversee the end-to-end product development process, from initial stages through commercialization of product within the cluster

  • Collaborate closely with Tech Ops and R&D teams to ensure seamless transitions.

  • Balance speed-to-market with quality and safety requirements.

  • KPIs:

    • Time-to-market for new products.

    • Product success rate (percentage of successful product launches).

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with R&D, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, and other departments.

  • Foster effective communication and collaboration

  • KPIs:

    • Cross-functional project completion rate.

    • Stakeholder satisfaction

Risk Assessment and Mitigation:

  • Identify and assess risks related to process changes, scalability, and compliance.

  • Develop strategies to mitigate risks and ensure smooth operations.

  • KPIs:

    • Risk mitigation effectiveness (percentage reduction in identified risks).

    • Compliance audit results.

Resource Management:

  • Manage budget allocation for process science activities within the cluster

  • Allocate cluster resources effectively to achieve project goals

  • KPIs:

    • Resource utilization efficiency.

    • Budget variance.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Stay informed about industry regulations and standards.

  • Ensure process science activities adhere to legal requirements.

  • KPIs:

    • Compliance audit results.

    • Number of regulatory deviations.

Team Development:

  • Coach and develop team members.

  • Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs.

  • KPIs:

    • Employee development plans executed.

    • Team performance improvement.

Required Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) is preferred in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Engineering, or related scientific field.

Required Years of Related Experience:      

  • 12+ years of experience with evidence of progressive increase in responsibility in pharmaceutical / consumer manufacturing or packaging, technical operations, or technical quality function in the Consumer Products or Pharmaceutical Industry required. 

  • Experience working directly with commercial scale manufacturing or packaging is preferred.  Supervisory experience is required.
