The Facilities Service Technician is responsible for troubleshooting complex HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, coordinating inspections, tests, and maintenance of facilities equipment, overseeing maintenance logs and documentation in a safe and compliant manner.
Key Responsibilities
Implement and execute preventive maintenance and calibrations programs for all facilities equipment and systems.
Lead and oversee the maintenance and repair of HVAC, mechanical and electrical systems and other maintenance systems as needed (Purified water, compressed air, boilers, chillers, building controls and fire protection systems).
Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing and mechanical systems.
Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and projects.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment inventory using CMMS.
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests.
Implement maintain and troubleshoot complex systems.
Conduct thorough inspections and tests on facilities machinery and equipment to identify and resolve malfunctions. Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for effective work order and preventive maintenance management and tracking.
Maintain detailed and accurate maintenance logs, equipment Inventory, and preventive maintenance inspection records.
Complete safety trainings and proper utilization of appropriate personal protective equipment as required.
Support other general support activities as required such as office moves and other general maintenance service requests.
Availability to support overtime and off hours as required, including on-call duties.
What we are looking for
Required Qualifications
3-5 years of experience in facilities maintenance or related field
HVAC experience, 313A (refrigeration) or 308A (Sheet metal) certified.
Strong knowledge of building systems and equipment
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks efficiently
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve HVAC and mechanical issues
Experience with computerized systems
Adherence to strict safe work practices and protocols
Desired Qualifications
Vocational, certificate, technical, or associate's degree in a relevant field
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration
Strong interpersonal skills to interact with diverse team members and stakeholders
Proficient in advanced personal computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
What’s in it for you
Annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges:$53,000.00 - $86,135.00
This takes into account a number of factors including work location, the candidate’s skills, experience, education level & other job-related factors.
