Processing Operator I (12 Month Contract)

This position reports into the Processing Supervisor and is based at Guelph, Ontario, Canada.

Role reports to: Processing Supervisor
Location: Guelph, Ontario, Canada
Travel %: None

What you will do

Under minimal direction, the Processing Operator I executes manufacturing steps for bulk pharmaceutical products in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ensures accurate documentation throughout the process.

This role will likely cover 3 full working days weekly (weekend, and one day during the week from 6 AM to 6 PM - 34.5 hours weekly).

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate manufacturing processes related to Weigh & Dispense, Granulation, Compression, Finishing (Coating & Printing), and Liquids.

  • Execute all manufacturing steps including cleaning/sanitation and equipment setup.

  • Process raw materials according to batch records, SOPs, and cleaning records.

  • Monitor and record all processing parameters and maintain accurate documentation.

  • Complete SAP/MES transactions, ensuring timely and complete data entry for downtime events.

  • Maintain updated training records and adhere to training deadlines.

  • Ensure a safe working environment by reporting hazards and completing safety training.

  • Promote quality and compliance by identifying quality issues, attending GMP training, and adhering to procedures.

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma (Grade 12).

  • Understanding of GMP compliance.

  • Mechanical aptitude.

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and SAP.

Desired Qualifications

  • Completion of post-secondary education in a relevant field (e.g., chemistry, biology, biochemistry).

  • 2–3 years of experience in a regulated food or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

  • Experience in solid dose manufacturing in OTC or pharmaceutical facilities.

  • Previous mechanical experience or training.
