What you will do

The Sr Lawyer is responsible for providing strategic legal support to both legal entities in Brazil, conducting local corporate matters (societário) and the tax, civil, commercial, criminal, and environmental litigation portfolio, and offering advisory services on any controversies in these areas, with proper strategic alignment with the Legal Director and external law firms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage CIVIL, TAX e other LITIGATION (excluding labor), related to all legal entities on a country level, assuring effective and efficient portfolio management, with proper strategy alignment to leadership (Legal & Business) and external law firms.

  • Provide analysis and legal counsel on Corporate Matters and Projects, advising Enabling Functions personnel to help develop solutions to a variety of complex problems, keeping the company and/or business units compliant by anticipating and helping to circumvent problems.

  • Manage the articles of association for Brazil’s legal entities and fulfill corporate secretary duties, including organizing shareholders meetings, managing power of attorney, and maintaining accurate records

  • Lead tax clearance certificate proceedings for the 3 (three) government levels (Federal, State and Municipality), for Brazilian legal entities and respective approx. 6 branches, acting as a liaison with Tax Department, Payroll and external advisor law firm.

  • Provide leadership on internal reports and controls, keeping the records updated on internal systems (KEMS, ELAW and Law Department SharePoint); and focus on smart spending by invoice and legal fees reviewing and looking for cost reduction opportunities.

  • Attend Kenvue meetings & committees (Local & Regional) and be updated on the training agenda, on legal education by attending seminars and keeping track of legislation changes.

  • Mentor and train legal interns to enhance their skills and knowledge

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience in a specialized legal litigation role

  • University/bachelor’s degree or Equivalent in Law

  • Active OAB

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Proven ability to take ownership of responsibilities and meet deadlines independently

  • Ability to solve conflicts, set the right priorities and allocate resources accordingly

  • Advanced English language

  • Highly motivated with a consultative approach to problem-solving

  • Previous experience in multinational companies

  • Proven track record of success in handling complex legal cases

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

  • Demonstrated ability to lead strategic initiatives, innovation and process improvements
