Quality Systems Technical Writer (Project Support) - 18 Month Contract

This position reports to Quality Systems Manager and is based at 890 Woodlawn Road West, Guelph, Ontario, Canada.

Role reports to: Quality Systems Manager

What you will do 

The Quality Systems Technical Writer (Project Support) is responsible for supporting Packaging (New Line 7) project activities.  This includes but is not limited to writing validation protocols and reports, owning change control deliverables, revising and routing documents (Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, Job Aids, Test Methods, etc), and supporting project management activities to ensure on time completion of critical deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

  • Writing packaging line trial, validation protocols and validation reports on behalf of packaging operations

  • Revising and routing procedures within the document management system

  • Completion of laboratory deliverables, including test method revisions and routing, and laboratory equipment retirement report writing

  • Work with functional area deliverable owners to ensure action items are completed on time

  • Own key deliverables within change controls to support various aspects of the project

  • Report out on progress to company Leadership

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

  • A University degree in a Science or related field

  • A minimum of 3-5 years working in a Drug or Food Manufacturing industry

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in packaging operations or packaging validation activities is considered essential

  • Experience with Change Controls or having project management training is considered an asset

  • Experience within a Quality organization in fields related or similar to Drug and/or Food manufacturing

  • Experience within quality laboratory or with equipment qualification is considered an asset

  • Access to and use of a variety of systems, programs, or applications (change control, investigation, document management, etc.) is required
