What you will do

The Segment Development Scientist for Self Care R&D will be responsible for the development and execution of regional and global projects linked to brand strategy, with scientific rigor, commitment, and creativity while contributing to GP improvements and embedded sustainability. This role will deliver technical activities and milestones for our project execution with human-centered insights and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Project execution

  • Support technical activities in product design/formulation and process development/process scale-up.

  • Support technical end-to-end R&D functions, defined the execution pathway, ensured deliverables remained on track, and supported technical problem-solving.

  • Operate dependently with senior R&D technical advisor on technical direction.

  • Execute pipeline activities.

  • Execute technical project work, including scale-up activities and analysis, with hands-on involvement.

  • Manage routine organizational processes and complexity.

  • Input data and information for peer-reviewed manuscripts and tech reports.

  • Provide progress/updates to the cross-functional project team.

  • Follow standards and ensure the department meets quality, medical, and regulatory requirements.
     

Technical Understanding

  • Gain formulation technology and chemical science experience.

  • Optimize formulated ingredients to meet cost objectives and manage raw material availability.

  • Moitor equipment operations and maintain cleanliness in the laboratory. (if applicable)

  • Maintain awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential applications of our brands and products.
     

Internal/external partnership management

  • Engage in day-to-day interaction with global Hubs and external development partnerships (as needed)

What we are looking for

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Science, Engineering, Pharmacy
  • 2-4 years working in a similar role
  • Experience in laboratory work in an industry setting
  • Agile, proactive, and highly motivated, thriving in fast‑moving environments
  • Fluent written and oral English communication skills are required.

Desired qualifications:

  • Experience with formulated products in cosmetics, food, medical devices, or OTC.
