What you will do

Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Innovation, Portfolio Pipeline Excellence & Business Development is a critical leadership role within Kenvue China, responsible for accelerating long‑term business growth through a strengthened innovation pipeline and a systematic, insight‑driven Business Development agenda.

This role sits at the intersection of local market strategy, brand strategy, and external growth opportunities. It supports pipeline initiatives across all brands and drives expansion through partnerships, licensing, scouting, and in‑organic growth avenues.

By deeply understanding consumer and customer needs, identifying unmet market opportunities, and building differentiated innovation and BD proposals, this role plays a pivotal part in driving China’s growth acceleration.

Key Responsibilities

1. Support the Kenvue China Innovation & BD Pipeline

  • Partner closely with the China marketing team to create winning, quantified product concepts and align launch timings across the portfolio by year.

  • Integrate BD insights (e.g., category trends, competitor innovation, external technology/platform opportunities) into the pipeline strategy.

2. Lead Innovation Projects

  • Drive innovation projects through China Innovation governance forums.

  • Ensure tight alignment with local market business leads on both innovation strategy and go‑to‑market (GTM) plans.

3. Lead Business Development for China

  • Identify, evaluate, and assess in‑organic growth opportunities including licensing, acquisitions, external partnerships, and technology scouting.

  • Build robust business cases including opportunity sizing, strategic fit evaluation, and financial implications.

  • Conduct external landscape assessments to surface BD opportunities aligned with priority brands and strategic categories.

  • Partner with regional/global BD teams where relevant to drive synergistic BD initiatives.

4. Support Commercialization

  • Support local business unit leaders during commercialization phases across both innovation‑led and BD‑led product introductions.

  • Ensure BD‑sourced opportunities are smoothly transitioned into commercialization workflows.

5. Lead Cross‑Functional Project Teams

  • Partner effectively with R\&D, supply chain, packaging, PMO, CBI, design, and regional BD where applicable to deliver both innovation and BD initiatives.

6. Drive Market Insight

  • Build and lead local consumer, category, and customer insight capabilities to strengthen both innovation and BD decisions.

  • Bring external market intelligence into portfolio and BD strategy discussions to shape the 3‑year operating plan.

7. Cross‑Segment Collaboration

  • Collaborate across SC and PC segments with priority focus on top 10 brands, integrating innovation and BD strategies to unlock shared growth.

Qualifications

  • BA degree required; Master’s in business or marketing preferred.

  • 8 years of experience in commercial functions (marketing & sales), with minimum 5 years in Brand Marketing within a consumer organization; OTC experience preferred.

  • Experience conducting business analysis to evaluate risks and opportunities and applying consumer insights to drive decision‑making.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop commercial innovations with strong brand messaging.

  • Proven commercial and financial acumen with experience making sound business decisions.

  • Experience leading in a matrix environment and partnering cross‑functionally.

  • Experience working in global/regional organizations preferred.

  • Project management track record preferred.

  • Fluency in Mandarin and English; excellent communication skills.

  • Role may require occasional travel.
