What you will do

The Senior Sustainable Innovation Scientist is responsible for conducting data-driven assessments of product and portfolio level environmental impact to deepen Kenvue’s understanding of hotspots and opportunities for sustainable innovation. Working within Kenvue’s Product Resiliency & Sustainability team, this role will support the evolution of eco-design tools and provide subject matter expertise on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).

Key Responsibilities

· Perform detailed assessments of product, brand and segment environmental sustainability of Over-the-Counter Medicines and Personal Care products and interrogate data to unlock deep understanding of products environmental hotspots and identify opportunities for sustainable innovation

· Support evolution of scientific methods (e.g. LCA) used by Kenvue to measure the environmental impact of products

· Partner cross-functionally to build and implement priority changes to Kenvue’s eco-design tool that will unlock rapid progress towards sustainable innovation goals

· Provide hands-on support to Product & Packaging Development teams with use of eco-design tools within the innovation process

· Develop and maintain technical documentation required to support Kenvue’s sustainable innovation program

· Proactively follow industry trends and emerging scientific developments and identify ways to incorporate these external insights into relevant programs at Kenvue

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

· Bachelors/Masters in relevant technical field (e.g. environmental sustainability, chemical engineering, chemistry etc.)

· 3+ years of experience in data analytics, process management, product development, packaging engineering, product formulation, eco-design, product environmental sustainability

· Proficiency with one or more relevant statistical analysis and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, PowerBI, Tableau, SPSS, or similar)

· Technical expertise in Life Cycle Assessment

· Exceptional critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills

· Motivated to drive scientific excellence and technical rigor

· Strong written and verbal communication skills aimed for both technical and non-technical audiences

· Serves as a role model for developing trusting relationships and collaborative work environment that are diverse and inclusive

· Demonstrate and inspire behaviors that reinforce the Kenvue values and culture

Desired Qualifications

· Confident and articulate communicator (both written and verbal), with the ability to convey and present complex information to others clearly and logically

· Experience working in a Global FMCG business or consultancy

What’s in it for you

Annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges:

$100,300.00 - $141,600.00

This takes into account a number of factors including work location, the candidate’s skills, experience, education level & other job-related factors.
