What you will do

As a Sourcing Manager, NA Chemicals and APIs, you will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing the sourcing strategy for the company's raw material chemicals. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient procurement of key raw materials while driving cost savings, mitigating supply chain risks, and fostering strong supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Sourcing Strategy:

Develop and implement sourcing strategies for raw material chemicals.

Lead efforts to identify and evaluate suppliers, ensuring they meet the company's quality, cost, and sustainability standards.

Analyze market trends, cost structures, and risk factors to recommend sourcing strategies and provide insights to leadership.

Supplier Management:

Build and manage strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers across regions, ensuring reliable supply chains and competitive pricing.

Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and terms with suppliers to secure favorable conditions and manage supplier performance.

Cost Optimization and Risk Mitigation:

Continuously seek opportunities to reduce costs, improve product quality, and streamline the procurement process for raw materials.

Proactively manage risks related to supply chain disruptions, regulatory changes, and fluctuations in commodity prices.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

Collaborate closely with R&D, production, and supply chain teams to ensure raw material availability and seamless integration into production processes.

Work with the finance team to ensure accurate cost forecasting and budgeting for raw material procurement.

Coordinate with regulatory and legal teams to ensure compliance.

Market Intelligence and Reporting:

Stay informed on market conditions, emerging trends, and new technologies in the raw materials chemical market.

Provide regular reporting on sourcing activities, supplier performance, and market trends to senior management.

Use data analytics to assess supplier performance, track savings, and improve sourcing decisions.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) is a plus.

Experience:

Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in global sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, with a focus on raw material chemicals in the chemical or manufacturing industry.

Proven experience in negotiating and managing contracts, cost optimization, and supplier relationships.

Strong understanding of global chemical markets, pricing dynamics, and supply chain risks.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to analyze market data and identify trends that impact sourcing decisions.

Expertise in supplier evaluation, risk management, and cost control.

Proficiency in using procurement software and tools (SAP, Oracle, etc.).

Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
