Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership and Vision:
o Define and lead the regional R&D strategy, ensuring it aligns with the global Essential Health segment.
o Oversee the innovation pipeline, ensuring that products are tailored to regional consumer and customer needs while maintaining global standards.
2. Product Development:
o Lead the development hub for Johnson’s Baby executing the strategy defined by Baby BDT for al key markets like India and the US.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize innovation opportunities.
o Ensure that the innovation strategy is aligned with the business goals and market trends.
3. Budget and Portfolio Management:
o Develop and manage comprehensive budgets, research proposals, progress reports, and portfolio management procedures.
o Establish clear criteria for the approval, continuation, and termination of projects, ensuring alignment with the global R&D operating model and regional strategy.
o Optimize resource allocation to maximize the impact of the R&D efforts.
4. Talent Management and Development:
o Drive and implement talent strategies, including hiring, promotions, pay adjustments, and performance appraisals.
o Develop and mentor a high-performing R&D team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
o Ensure that the team is aligned with the organization's goals and scientific activities.
5. Collaboration and Communication:
o Serve as an integral member of the leadership team, collaborating with internal and external colleagues to drive strategic initiatives.
o Translate and implement communication strategies across work groups, ensuring clear and consistent messaging.
o Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, both within and outside the organization.
6. Compliance and Safety:
o Ensure that the team adheres to all safety procedures, healthcare compliance, company training, and local regulations.
o Lead by example in promoting a culture of compliance and safety.
o Regularly review and update compliance procedures to stay current with regulatory changes.
7. Cultural Leadership:
o Foster a consumer-centric and inclusive culture within the R&D team.
o Promote a collaborative and innovative environment that encourages creativity and teamwork.
o Lead initiatives to enhance team engagement and morale.
8. Performance and Results:
o Set and achieve ambitious goals for the R&D team, driving performance and results.
o Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure the team is meeting its objectives.
o Continuously seek ways to improve processes and outcomes, leveraging data and insights to inform decision-making.
