This position reports to the Senior Tax Manager and is based at São José dos Campos, Brazil, in a hybrid model.

What you will do

The Tax Compliance Manager is responsible for managing the accuracy and timeliness of all Brazil tax compliance operations, from data validation through provision, reporting, payment and execution of sundry filings. 

You will collaborate with Tax and finance partners to source data, provide analysis, identify improvement opportunities and support business decisions. 

You will oversee local audits, improve tax policies and processes, and support domestic and international tax activities to ensure transparency and appropriate risk management:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement, manage and improve tax compliance strategies tailored to Brazil's dynamic regulatory environment, ensuring seamless alignment with global standards and adapting compliance frameworks to address and anticipate regulatory changes.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of tax calculation and reporting for internal and external compliance requirements, including the consolidation and review of corporate income tax returns and related financial reporting activities.
  • Own the end-to-end tax compliance processes and resulting financial and cash effects.
  • Lead local cross-functional collaboration to integrate tax technology solutions that enhance accuracy and efficiency in compliance reporting and support internal audits and government compliance related to tax documentation and processes.
  • Develop and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of continuous learning, proactive risk management, and effective controls to monitor compliance with evolving tax regulations.
  • Champion data-driven decision-making by leveraging analytics to identify compliance trends, optimize tax risk mitigation strategies, and manage tax risk effectively.
  • Collaborate with finance partners to prepare tax and financial analyses, providing expert guidance on domestic and international tax matters and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Support and maintain local tax and transfer pricing models and provide international tax support as needed.
  • Take joint responsibility for transparency in financial forecasts, tax rates, and financial close processes.
  • Develop, improve, and maintain tax policies, processes, templates, corporate submissions, and communications.
  • Identify, research, and develop solutions for tax issues and opportunities for process and compliance improvements.
  • Develop dynamic forecasting models to predict indirect tax impacts on business operations for proactive financial planning
  • Overseeing all aspects of Brazil Tax Reform, keeping on track with new legal requirement and lead the cross functional team to execute the financial strategy to guarantee Tax Compliance, optimize the future financial impacts and cash flow.

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Law or related field.
  • 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in tax management, compliance, and planning roles.
  • Strong knowledge of tax regulations, audit processes, and financial reporting standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional finance and business teams.
  • Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills related to tax issues and compliance.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic and complex environment.
  • Experience in managing a large team.
  • Solid proficiency in English and Portuguese.

  • Proven ability to innovate and implement cutting-edge tax compliance solutions using emerging technologies and data analytics.
  • Proven experience in managing tax transfer pricing and international tax matters.
  • Experience in developing and implementing tax policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks.
  • Strong communication skills to advise and influence stakeholders at various organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in tax software and financial systems relevant to tax reporting and compliance.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with a track record of building and guiding teams to exceed compliance objectives under tight deadlines.
