Role reports to: Process Science Leader

What you will do

The Technical Operations Scientist is responsible for planning and conducting moderately complex experiments, analyzing and interpreting results, and maintaining accurate records.

You will provide solutions within established policies, prepare technical documentation, and contribute to the development and improvement of processes and products, both in liquids and engineered areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement advanced technical protocols and moderately complex experiments to optimize operational workflows, ensure rigorous data collection, and enhance data accuracy.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and with supervisors to develop innovative solutions, prepare technical reports, manuscripts, and scientific documentation that address complex scientific and technical challenges.
  • Lead the integration of cutting-edge analytical tools and automation technologies to streamline laboratory processes and contribute to the development and refinement of experimental methodologies applying scientific principles and policies.
  • Support for manufacturing design, process improvement, transfer for cosmetic/engineered products at pilot and industrialization scale
  • Execution of laboratory tests (i.e. pH, viscosity, rheology, seal strength, weight…) for the engineered & liquids products, batch preparation at pilot level and active presence on the production shop floor for root cause problems solving, optimization and validations activities
  • Conduct rigorous data analysis, accurate interpretation of results, develop, write, update, and maintain comprehensive scientific protocols, test methods, standard operating procedures, and precise documentation of experimental procedures, data, and findings to enhance experimental consistency, quality, and compliance.
  • Prepare and present detailed scientific reports, drawings, diagrams, and presentations to effectively communicate data, methodologies, and scientific findings to influence strategic decision-making.

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline (Chemistry is preferred option)
  • 1-2 years of related experience in a regulated laboratory, research environment, production, quality
  • Proven ability to apply innovative problem-solving skills to enhance operational efficiency and data integrity
  • Exceptional communication skills to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
  • Demonstrated proficiency in laboratory data management systems and standard office software including word processing and spreadsheet applications
  • Proven ability to independently manage multiple priorities while maintaining high-quality standards and adherence to protocols

Desired Qualifications

  • Proficiency in advanced data analysis software and laboratory automation systems
  • Experience in product development or pilot scale equipment setup
  • Working knowledge of statistical analysis techniques and familiarity with statistical software tools
  • Strong technical writing skills with the ability to produce clear, concise, and accurate scientific documentation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively present data and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams
  • Capacity to influence and collaborate with peers and supervisors to drive project success and continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated proficiency in cGMP compliance
