The Transportation Analyst is responsible for managing and optimizing a portfolio of transportation lanes ensuring consistent product availability and the highest levels of customer experience. Including scheduling and routing shipments, analyzing transportation planning opportunities to reduce costs, verifying purchase order and bill information, monitoring orders from start to finish, coordinating with carriers, preparing for carrier contract negotiations, and collecting data for monthly reports.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage a portfolio of transportation lanes within the Kenvue network and ensure optimal service, including tactical issues, on an exception basis.
· Analyze transportation data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient and effective transportation operations
· Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve transportation processes
· Identify and implement innovative solutions to enhance transportation efficiency and reduce environmental impact
· Develop and implement transportation strategies to optimize efficiency and reduce costs
· Collaborate with carriers to negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with service agreements
· Monitor carrier performance and implement programs to improve service quality
· Prepare and distribute reports on transportation metrics and performance
· Assist with the development of transportation budgets and forecasts
· Coordinate with sales and production teams to ensure on-time delivery of products
· Research and evaluate new transportation technologies and methods
· Additional responsibilities include coordination, track & trace/exception management for assigned transportation lanes, and ad-hoc operational analytics to drive day to day business efficiencies.
· Identify and mitigate transportation risks to ensure safe and timely delivery of goods.
· Deliver results across critical metrics owned by Transportation such as on-time delivery, cost improvement programs, freight spend performance vs. budget, security infraction rates, and quality deliverables.
What we are looking for
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in transportation, logistics, or a related field
· 2-4 years of experience in transportation analysis or a related field
· Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools
· Requires experience in logistics, customer service, transportation, distribution, operations, supply chain, and/or information technology.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interface with various groups including customers, sales offices, DCs, and plant production departments.
· Ability to handle multiple priorities successfully and work independently while demonstrating initiative
Desired Qualifications
· 3-5 years of experience in transportation analysis or a related field
· Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools
· Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and data analytics software
· Knowledge of Six Sigma/Process Excellence tools and methodologies
· Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to think creatively and identify innovative solutions to transportation challenges
