Job Description:

This individual will be responsible for leading the deliver function for Australia and New Zealand Operations in matters of Strategic partnership, building Cost Improvement programs, unlocking agility and efficiency across the physical flow of products, deliver on P&L targets of IBF and SG&A and collaborate with cross functional stakeholders to deliver to customers reliably. He/She will operate as interface with ANZ and regional Deliver counterparts for enhancing operations and capabilities support.

Core responsibilities include: 

  • Defining and planning a multi-year transformation program. Working in synch with broader Operations transformation initiatives defining ideas, concepts, and master plans to put in place solutions that drive the significant value and impacts across segment E2E Deliver activities
  • Has direct accountability for the cluster Business Plan and long-range strategic plans for Deliver for financials and prioritized initiatives – align with SC, Commercial and APAC Deliver strategies/plans 
  • Interface with Customers, E2E supply chain and commercial to translate reliability and agility targets into day-to-day operations. 
  • Drive high impact E2E initiatives within Deliver across cluster partnering with stakeholders within cluster and Regional counterparts. 
  • Develop mid to long term distribution network strategy by market assessment, customer value proposition and business strategies, and assess and adjust annual basis, partnering with country/cluster and regional counterpart. 
  • Direct accountability for all Distribution, outbound Transportation, Import/Export and Trade Compliance for country/cluster. 
  • Owns and orchestrates country/cluster Deliver performance (financial and non-financial KPIs) for segment, ensuring annual targets are set and achieved. 
  • Collaboration and cross-team coordination of significant change to deliver value, supported by new innovative Digital Deliver Operations solutions, Core Digital, Intelligent Automation and Data + Analytics foundations through activities executed as the program passes from innovation to program definition, design, build, deploy and run.  
  • Ensure a robust foundation of quality and compliance throughout Deliver in country/cluster -partnering with E2E SC and compliance functional pillars to set compliance agenda, monitor performance, surface and drive rapid resolution of compliance risk 
  • Drives continuous improvement and nurture Continuous Process Improvement culture in country/cluster. 
  • Build long term partnership with strategic customers and suppliers by exploring innovative distribution and logistics solutions to meet their needs. 
  • Develop talent and ensure Deliver team demonstrates functional excellence. Actively sponsor and mentor key talent while building leadership capabilities within the team 
  • Develops talent and Deliver teams, including future focused capabilities (e.g. Digital); actively sponsors and mentors key talent across E2E supply chain 
  • Manages/leads and influences without authority over extended team including partner functions (i.e. Quality, Finance, HR, IT) as well GDEx and IRTE.  

Key measures 

The position will be measured primarily on: 

  • Supply chain net cost change 
  • Warehousing and distribution costs, reliability and agility metrics
  • Cost improvement projects 
  • Organization health 
  • Agility and reliability metrics of lead time and Non-PA OTIF measures
  • Compliance with J&J EHS standards and employee safety 
  • Compliance to worldwide, regional and local policies eg. GMP/Quality, Policy of Business Conduct, Healthcare Compliance, SOX, HCBI, etc. 

Qualifications

 Position Requirements:

  • 15+ years end to end supply chain experience or multiple supply chain function exposure. Experience working in a highly matrixed, global organization is critical for success 
  • Core Supply Chain Competencies specially in Plan and Deliver functions, financial acumen for managing P&L, Leadership Skills – Connect, Shape, Grow and Live Our Credo. 
  • Experience of managing a large warehouse 15000+ Pallet footprint, along with demonstrated capability of driving metrics of Inventory Accuracy, Stock Claims, Lead time scores and SLOB.
  • Experience in leading warehouse transformations, RFP/RFQ, warehouse movements that demonstrates deep expertise in planning and executing the changes with zero disruption
  • Strong understanding of critical digital capabilities like WMS, TMS, EDI, ASN, and other linked applications.  
  • Strong understanding of AU/NZ customer landscape, 3PL & transportation providers and brokers.
  • Experience in fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) or regulated industry of similar complexity is preferred.
  • Strategic thinking ability: always seeking areas for improvement to create growth, improve financial performance and gain global and competitive advantage 
  • Demonstrated skills in leading teams and ability to showcase strong leadership and interpersonal skills to build high performance and high engagement culture.
  • Demonstrated skill in influencing and collaboration within and across organizations, globally and at all organizational levels 

Preferred Requirements/Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. MBA or MS is preferred.  A degree in engineering, supply chain, or relevant field is a plus.​
