Role reports to: ERLR Leader
Location: Neuss, Germany or Wuppertal, Germany
What you will do
The ERLR Manager - Germany is responsible for providing day-to-day advice and counseling on labor relations matters, conducting investigations and resolving employee grievances, and recommending courses of action on labor/employee relations issues to management:
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure timely and compliant handling of all requests.
- Input and guidance on Labor Relations Strategy, preparation & negotiation of all collective bargaining agreements within agreed parameters and leading the negotiations as representative of the company/employer.
- Coordinate and administer all consultations and information with local unions and Workers Council members.
- Ensure workplace policies are updated and in compliance with applicable local laws.
- Stakeholder management and continuous communication with the local HR Leaders, the Senior Leadership, and the local Works Council committees
- Stay updated on country employment and labor practices.
- Provide expert guidance on complex labor relations matters and trends, e.g. regarding benefits and leaves topics
- Drive proactive initiatives to enhance awareness of labor/employee relations among managers and employees, e.g. coaching and training on labor law regulations, existing policies, etc.
- Escalate critical matters to protect the company's interests to senior stakeholders
- Actively shape and manage the relationship with local Works Council committees
- Lead, own, and manage negotiations with the unions by representing the interests of the organisation
What we are looking for
Required Qualifications
- Significant HR experience with a concentration on Employee Relations, Labor Relations and/or HR Generalist experience
- Alternatively, relevant experience as Labor Relations Specialist
- University/bachelor’s degree or Equivalent in Labour Law, Business Administration or related field
- Expertise in German employment and labor relations regulations and practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to build strong relationships with stakeholders across different levels
- Proven experience in diagnosing and resolving complex labor relations issues and negotiating with unions
- Strategic mindset with a focus on driving results and achieving business objectives with strong ownership for the own projects and topics
- Experience in managing and implementing strategic change initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex negotiations and sensitive issues
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and communication skills
- Ability to influence leadership in indirect, matrix-based, and virtual environments
- Enthusiastic team player with a drive to create a positive work environment
- Strong management, relationship management, coaching, and collaboration skills, ideally within the FMCG industry or a multinational corporation
- Proficiency in MS Office and related technology tools
- Fluent English skills
