This position reports to the Head of Skin and Essential Health and is based in Cape Town, South Africa

What you will do

Working within the Marketing Team, you will be responsible for assisting with the implementation of one of our consumer marketing strategies on a brand. You will work closely with a broad multi-functional team and marketing leadership to execute and track brand plans through the path to purchase, focusing on 1YOP. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute brand strategy with perfection across 1YOP
  • Contribute to Delivery of brand Targets on NTS, GP and Share.
  • Support specific elements of NPIC launches to ensure flawless execution.
  • Conduct regular analysis of available data e.g. sales, shares, penetration etc and Turn data and insights into action to win with consumers. Analysis quality to be shareable up to GM level. 
  • Contribute to the development of retail ready plans for your brand to deliver Category growth
  • Manage media and flow plans and work with media partners to implement optimizations to digital campaigns
  • Support manager in fostering external agency relationships and ensure work is delivered on time and within budget. Keep detailed tracking of projects.
  • Work closely with rest of our brand marketing teams to drive harmonies across brand & demonstrate insights.
  • Work closely with Shopper team for effective instore solutions at best possible ROI
  • Support HCP team in providing materials useful for executing in market.
  • Track each relevant project with legal and regulatory teams to ensure zero tolerance for compliance gaps across brand executions
  • Flawlessly Manages brand budget/ expenses across the full purchase to payments cycle.
  • Champion your brand within the broader organization.

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing or Similar
  • Experience and Skills: +4 years’ experience in marketing positions within FMCG companies
  • Proven Track record for managing budgets effectively
  • Proven track record on Innovation/ renovation launches 
  • Proven track record of using data analysis to drive business impact 
  • Strong ability to drive clear narratives across stakeholders at all levels 
  • Demonstrated resilience – has managed through tough circumstances and grown from it
  • Operator mindset – willing to roll up sleeves, show accountability for work and impact
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate whitespace with little direction, strong collaborator
  • Language: Strong communication required oral and written

Key Competencies

  • Demonstrates an understanding of all elements of Brand strategy and its impact on the marketing mix choices across the Must Win Battles.
  • Apply in-depth understanding of consumer, shopper and marketplace trends and competitor activities to drive competitive advantage
  • Leverages project management tools and techniques to define project objectives, milestones, scope, as well as track projects and initiate potential process improvements
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the brand P&L and its components to determine implications of marketing decisions on brand profitability and build business cases
  • Strong analytical capabilities to lead brand performance analysis and deliver recommendations to the Multifunctional team for action
  • Shows good understanding of media landscape including Influencer, the role and effectiveness of differing touchpoints for achieving different objectives.
  • Draws on knowledge and experience of key drivers of demand forecast to address key components and accuracy of forecasting in partnership with Supply Chain
  • Can draw on understanding of HCP and support the delivery of key initiatives against “the science of selling” with HCP leads.
  • Collaborative attitude to nurture healthy relationships with agencies, vendors, multi-functional teams, HCP’s, and other key partners to support business growth.
